"One of the nicest Inns we’ve stayed at. Our room was spacious with a king size bed, two comfortable chairs, a huge bathroom with a soaking tub and walk-in shower. The extra amenities were wonderful including a Nespresso coffee pot, turndown service and homemade snacks. The included breakfast was delicious. "

However, the restaurant service is poor--slow, tables not ready for reservation time (even when few people, they had us wait in the lobby and then after leading us to the table they combined them in front of us while we waited in between diners/other tables). Room Service had to come twice because they 'forgot' part of the order. Basically, the kitchen needs work! The maintenance of the room balcony areas were not clean. The buildings needed...

Gardens are the best Carmel has to offer. Two features that need improvement: please offer “real” in room coffee - not instant powdered stuff!! And please provide instruction in operation of in room temperature controls - hard to use this! Thanks for a lovely stay in a sublime hotel."
