"It was a good stay. The hotel and grounds were clean and comfortable. The area seemed safe too. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean, you could tell that it was older as it had telephone jacks throughout, and minimal USB ports for more modern devices. We had an interesting development in the evening where water suddenly started flowing out of the bathroom ceiling vent. "Really different location and property well kept if looking a little worn in places. Food very good. Service in the evening was excellent. Unfortunate noise coming from proximity to rail line not helpful if you are a light sleeper but bigger issue (and not the hotels fault) are the sea lions on the opposite which bark all night. The combination of a the sea lions and the trains throughout the night very unfortunate as rooms are by no way sound proof. "

"We were pleasantly surprised at the gorgeous 1864 built Victorian mansion converted into a beautiful venue with all the amenities you’d expect from a hotel and some you don’t always get such as snacks in the lobby. The beds are comfy, the shower is huge and the rooms are so well insulated that we didn’t hear any hallway traffic or our neighbors.
