Okay, hear me out, because I know those who have stayed at this hotel before, especially before the remodel, may understand where I’m coming from. We’ve been to this hotel several times over the years, and one thing that has never changed is the amazing staff and service. People like Lorena at the crepe station, Miguel, Ramon, Luis, Abel, and so many others continue to provide excellent service and make you feel welcome. They truly are one of the reasons we have continued to return. Unfortunately, some of the other things we loved about this resort have changed. The food options are different, Spice buffet is no longer open in the evenings, and while some of the new menus are good, others have been disappointing. Of course, none of this is the staff’s fault. The biggest difference for us, and something I’ve heard from other guests I’ve spoken with, is the atmosphere. That lively energy the resort once had just doesn’t seem to be there anymore. The music and excitement around the pool, the outdoor grilling, the entertainment, and the shows have all been scaled back. Even Mexican night, which used to feel like a special experience, was disappointing this time. I want to be fair because this is still a beautiful place with wonderful people and excellent service. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful to relax and unwind, this may be exactly what you’re looking for.
