「The room was clean, the beds comfortable. We arrived just as the front desk clerk was leaving. She graciously stayed and checked us in. The desk is unmanned after 9 pm. Our key was under the mat for our room. It would have been nice if the air conditioning had been turned on. It was 90+ degrees and the room didn't cool down until early morning.」

「Condition of the property was appalling. Filthy carpet in room, worn and torn outdoor carpet in outer hallway. Sheers in room were torn and threadbare. Window in room filthy. Black mold in pool. No answer when phoning front desk repeatedly late at night. Phone line crackly and barely working. Breakfast room offerings were poor. No fresh milk or cream. Few to no protein offerings. Virtual check in was efficient but very eerie. Rarely ever leave a bad review but this was egregious」

「There was trash on the floor by the curtains when we arrived. There was only one small bar of soap to be used between two sinks and a shower. The ironing board was broken and unusable. No one came to take out the trash or replace the coffee mugs and coffee pods. Not what I expect when paying $300 a night. It was equivalent to a dirty, poorly maintained budget motel. Very disappointing.」

「Great location to the Shakespeare Festival and downtown area. But this is an older, dark hotel with Motel 6 like rooms for well over $300/night. Just not a good quality to price ratio. Strongly suggest the hotel across the street which was about $120/night cheaper with much more light and was much newer」

「We stayed in the upper appartment. The place is beautiful, comfortable, quite, and clean. The kitchen is well equipped. The balcony overlooks a beautiful garden patio. The location is a short walking distance to Ashlands' center with its theaters, coffee shops and restaurants. Steve, our host, was welcoming, bery communicative and accessible. Our stay was perfect.」

「This was my sixth motel stay in seven days of road tripping and it was a delightful surprise. The exterior is quite modest - sort of a dated Route 66 vibe - but my room was bright and modern, with bamboo floors and a beautiful stone-tiled shower. It was 98 degrees in Ashland but the small AC unit performed extremely well and the room was cool and very comfortable. 「The check in experience was so bad that they did not find my reservation. And they have to keep calling their manager who is not on site to find out more information. Finally they want me to re-book with them again and pay on site. I told them that I have a booking with Hotels.com, they keep saying they cannot find the reservation. I spent at least 30 minutes at the front desk and still couldn't resolve the problem. It made me think they want to charge me twice.」
