「The hotel owners/hosts, Sharon and John were very welcoming and friendly including Sharon offering to drive me to a local restaurant and later coming back to collect me. The Continental breakfast was generous, varied and more than enough to satisfy and set you up for the day! When I am next in that area, I’ll certainly book to stay at the Ashbank and shall make the recommendation for others to do so too!」

「We had a great stay at our daughters wedding all the family in one large villa but still felt part of the hotel. Cars come and take you up to the hotel whenever you wish. Or the grounds are beautiful to walk up to the hotel. All the staff we met were amazing」

「This was our second stay at Barns and it not disappoint. The rooms are spotlessly clean, nice touch with the mini fridge with fresh milk and water. The street is very quiet, as are the rooms. Only 3 rooms but we didn’t hear or see anyone so we had the beautiful back terrace to ourselves, a little sun spot! Lovely large kitchen/dining area for your use but we ate out both nights. Would highly recommend.」

「Loved the property. Beautiful and charming in and out. Perfect stay on vacation though breakfast starts a bit too late 8am for business days. They can accommodate a cold breakfast for you earlier upon request. 」

「Lovely, historic boutique hotel in Ayr. Small, but nicely appointed room, convenient location. Near the beach, close to transportation, etc. Walked to a beautiful golf course, Belleisle, and played there on a spectacular sunny day. Enjoyed 2 breakfasts and dinners in their restaurant. Very pleased with our choice of accommodations. 」

「This is a modern hotel in an historic house with a fantastic restaurant attached. Not sure if the two are owned by the same group but probably. The check in is all virtual, no hotel staff are on site, and it went smoothly however I did have to step outside to get a decent cellular signal in order to check in. Close to the railway station. Excellent breakfast in the restaurant. Highly recommended!」

「We really enjoyed our stay. Apartment had all we needed. It was really spacious and beds were extremely comfortable. Showers were fantastic. Security was second to none as Donald Trump was staying next door the weekend we stayed! Was fun to watch his motorcade go by the end of the road. Even had drones flying over and reporters doing live broadcasts on the lawn on the front of the development. Will definitely be back but don’t think Donald will be here next time.」
