「Excellent stay, quiet room and good food. I suggest staying in the main building, as the annexe is far from everything, and the path between the annexe and the main building can get slippery on rainy days (and it rains a lot in England). The wine list and beer selection need improvement.」

「What an amazing place! Beautifully restored, warm, cosy and very welcoming/relaxing and with a fascinating history (used in many films). Helpful attentive staff whilst not being “stuffy” (a pet hate of mine!). Would definitely treat ourselves to a stay here again. 」

「Food is delicious. The breakfast is very traditional English style. The staff is very nice, much nicer than some so- called famous hotel. Only as a historical building, the floor and steps are interesting. The location is good for watching cold stream march. Overall is the best from my list by price. Worth trying again. 」

「I’ve stayed in this hotel a number of times now. The staff are amazing and the rooms always clean and comfortable. It’s beautifully quiet and serene but also not far from town centres. The most recent stay we upgraded to the bigger suite type room. Stunning and excellent value for money. 」

「Hotel du Vin has been refurbed since our last stay. It is gorgeous - our room and the communal areas. Much more space and I love the decor. The staff were lovely, the guy on reception organised hypoallergenic bedding for me and the lady behind the bar made wonderful martinis. It's just a whole package of loveliness. We will be back soon. 」
