"Very small rooms in this old-fashioned roadside motel. Some cosmetic upgrades have taken place but there's only so much you can do for an old cinder block building. The biggest problem was heat. It's radiant heat with no way to control it. They have a fake thermostat for a central air furnace on the wall, but it does nothing. It's March and the only way to get the heat below 80 is to leave windows open! Doesn't feel to safe leaving ground level windows open. We were roasting hot. We also had ants. The mattress was super hard, so in conjunction with the heat, we didn't sleep much. The motel is pet friendly, which means they charge you $20 per night for pets. Not sure how this qualifies as friendly. Our dog didn't use linens, towels, or eat some dry cereal from their "continental breakfast" so I'm not sure why we paid more. Might be better to be here in summer and use the wall mounted air conditioner, but we'll never come back in winter. "
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Birch Run-Frankenmuth, MI
2/10 Terrible
"Filthy rooms, we had two rooms, bathrooms not cleaned, moved three times, found same condition in each. Rude housekeeping staff, carpwts not vacuumed (were the sheets even changed?)discussed with GM she said she has no boss we could talk to, ice tastes of chlorine, ruined our water, my door would not shut right and had a large gap with the frame, no shelf in fridge to put things on, in middle of an unfinished remodel, did not see that posted anywhere, smdry and hard fake eggs for breakfast, warm sausage and warm coffee, hard bagels, stay in your car before here."
"The parking lot wasn’t well cleared of snow and ice.The fitness center is a joke. The treadmill was broken and the recumbent bike was so unstable I thought I would fall over. No complimentary breakfast. The towels were so thin and small, I thought the bath towel was a hand towel. If you’re bigger than a size 6 it might not wrap around you. Staff was friendly and the restaurant is decent. You will find the same foul mouthed regulars drinking at the bar nightly though. "
"The room was clean and the staff was great. This is an older motel in the area but has been remodeled recently and was spotless. We will stay here whenever we go to the Owosso,Mi. area again. No fears here, we enjoyed our stay and can be a little picky sometimes!"
