"I loved to be in this hotel, perfect location, friendly staff, everything clean, definitely I have to come back."

"Great location for the purpose of our visit. The front desk personnel were very friendly and welcoming at check-in. The room itself was dark, the furniture being black, and dark blue wallpaper. It was difficult to see in the closet as the lighting in that corner was poor. The bed was comfortable and snuggly. There is a nice little market just next door to purchase a quick breakfast or afternoon/bedtime snacks. The Melrose is a nice place to stay."

"Great staff and very nice hotel. Had to pay for coffee and consistently ask for water (no refill bottle options). Window cover was broken and had to be removed. Fantastic concierge and tour of the hotel’s nostalgic history. Room was clean and view of the river couldn’t be beat. "

"The property is clean but OLD and needs a facelift! The location was the main reason and lobby was nice but as you get to the elevator u feel it’s old hotel and once u get to the room u feel like you have been exported back in time as the carpet is old, furniture is old. Doors and windows are NOT soundproof and the walls are thin .., you can hear other people passing by or in the next rooms 🙈"

"There is "no" ac .. I think they won't allow guests to use it until after April 1st It was 97 degrees, this is just not acceptable .. DC is known to be hot and humid. AC is a non negotiable for most people"

"Good hotel but poor amenities. No pool, no vending. And poor security. My door lock requires my card to be repogrammed every few hours and the desk never asked for ID or to verify my room. They just programmed it for whatever room I told them. Would be very easy for someone to get staff to give them a key to another person's room. "
