For the older set it's a real find, within walking distance of most historical areas and eminently walkable. Breakfast is a bit too costly unless it's your only meal.

Look forward to my return!
Very pleasant experience. Beautiful period decorated spacious room with high ceiling, comfortable layout, quality bed & bathrooms linens in a quiet peaceful part of hotel facing a back courtyard. High quality European style breakfast with a large offering served d by a friendly team which was consistent with all those I interacted with at the Kaiserin Elisabeth. If you’re looking for a modern, generic chain hotel, this is not the place!

Situated in an excellent central location, a short (15 min) walk from Wien Mitte station, the Hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful with great local knowledge when organising activities for our three day stay. The room has high ceilings and was very clean. The bathroom was very large with a large walk in shower and separate bath. I recommend Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth to anyone especially families with young children on a short stay break.

Hotel is located in Inner Stad steps away from Kartner Strasse and next to Stephan Cathedral,very clean with excellent staff,rooms are spacious and very welcoming because their size.Highly recommended for a day stay or month.Love this place and definitely will be back there.

Christmas Delight
This characterful hotel is perfect for a central city break in Vienna. We had a very pleasant stay over Christmas in a comfortable,quiet,well appointed room that was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was plentiful,with a wide selection of beautifully prepared delicacies. Felix and his team were all friendly and welcoming. Katalin on reception always greeted us with a smile and others were always happy to help. There were delightful little touches - a Christmas stocking on the bedroom door on Christmas Eve.The staff made our stay a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful historic property in the heart of the Inner Stadt. Large, comfortable, sunny room with huge windows. Modern bathroom and firm bed. Good breakfast. The staff was delightful and responsive. Two suggestions: put at least one pair of firm pillows in the closet (the ones on the bed were a little too cloud-like…), and a hot water maker in the room would be helpful.

We loved staying at Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth! It is in a central location only a block away from St. Stephen’s Cathedral. We could walk or catch the nearby underground to get anywhere we wanted to go. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms had everything we needed.

Our stay here was fantastic, old European charm. Excellent service and breakfast buffet was very good. Cant remember her name, the the lady at front desk at night was so helpful throughout our stay. She was from Budapest and made great recommendations for our next stop. Very convenient location.

Location, quiet, service :)
The hotel was as shown, with great rooms and a superb location. Was greeted by a lovely gentleman who was quick and helpful. Although my room wasn't ready, they checked my bags so I could walk around the city a bit. When I returned a few hours later, the room was ready, and my bags were sent to my room - great service! Room was quiet and had everything I needed. I had a bit of a different experience later in the evening when I went out and returned again. I was walking around the lobby admiring the paintings and decor, when the woman at front desk (rather rudely) asked "Can I help you". Based on her tone, it was clear she thought I wasn't supposed to be there. I told her I was staying in Room 401, and her tone completely changed and she began to sound apologietic. Although not a great experience, it did help me to feel even safer knowing they check who is coming in. Even with that experience, the hotel was great and I would definitely stay again.

A beautiful historical hotel in a perfect center location of Vienna, literally steps away from Stephanplatz and subways for U and S. The hotel room is comfortable and spacious, and surprisingly quiet even though the location is in the midst of attractions and shops. The staff is nice and helpful, they have umbrella ready for guests on rainy days. Breakfast is nice, good selection of varieties in a beautiful decorated room. We would definitely stay here again.

A nice old building in a central location. Our room was fortunately quiet facing the courtyard as aircon did not work at all and with closed windows it was too hot. Breakfast and wifi are good. One physical key that one needs to leave at reception is bizarre.

Perfect location in Vienna
We loved our stay at the Kaiserin Elisabeth. It was a perfect location for walking around the Inner Stadt. The hotel staff were so helpful, recommending restaurants, getting taxis, suggesting things we might like. We really enjoyed the Heurigen, a winery type setting on the edge of the city. Highly recommend this hotel!

Clean well situated comfortable older style hotel with all the amenities… Air conditioning had a hard time keeping up during a heat wave in Sept. Breakfast was adequate…we found the crew to be mostly efficient… the lovely woman on the desk at night.. was the world warmest person we met in the hotel.. This was our experience in Austria… They’re not really warm and fuzzy.

Great location within walking distance to many cathedrals, concerts, Hofburg Palace and great restaurants. Very busy plaza (Stephansplatz) a few steps away, but rooms are extremely quiet!

Perfect location for Vienna sightseeing!
This was our second trip to Vienna and we were so very pleased with the Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth. It is very convenient to all key tourist sites. The hotel is historic but has been thoughtfully renovated and is beautiful as well as very comfortable. The staff is great and helped us with a dinner reservation at a terrific, authentic Viennese restaurant. We highly recommend this hotel!
