This is a humble property. We arrived late and found it dirty. The bed was good and the bedding was clean. The floors and toilet base were very dirty. We asked for another room or to have this one cleaned while we were out. There was an effort made. The rug in front of the bed and a small portion of baseboards were cleaned. It was apparent the room cleaners did not know how to clean and sanitize the room. Second day there was no room service. We had to retrieve clean towels. This will be on our list of places not to visit again.

The room was clean enough. I mean, I rented a hotel room for $95 a night. Wasn't expecting 5 star. I did have an occurrence where my room key card didn't work when I arrived back at my room at 10:30pm. Thankfully they had a ring doorbell at the office and I was able to get a person there (they had to take cab back in...) after waiting about 20 minutes or so outside. Glad I didn't have to use the restroom! The hotel is fine for the money, but I will say this... they have some sketchy people staying there. One night the police were called to a room a few doors down. Definitely some shady people stay there. There are better options in Vernal.

thank you for your stay and confident. We are located in downtown area and works closely with local enforcement. Anything suspicious we don't want to take a chance for everyone safety; therefore this kind of inspection is normal, nothing to worry about. In general, Vernal is a safe town but we are always taking extra precaution for our guest comfort. Sorry if this worry you.

Let me start by saying that the staff was super nice, helpful and professional. While this is a budget hotel and there were some good things, the few bad things kind of killed the positives. The bed was terrible. A low end, old budget mattress that the put a 2" soft foam "topper" on. This only served to fold up and it felt like sleeping in a hammock. Other things were smaller issues, like no shelf or anything like that in the shower (so everything needed to sit on the shower floor) and some minor repairs needed to be done. However, they did make an obvious effort to modernize the rooms and it was very clean. The show itself was new, there were outlets available to plug things into and it had modern hard flooring. If it were not for the bed, I'd increase a star but let's face it, the bed is one of the most important parts of the hotel room. The staff is what keeps it up to 3 stars (otherwise it would be 2).

Sage at Vernal
The Sage Motel is an older property, and I gave it high dcores because the problems were outside the control of the innkeepers. Literally. There is a lot of noise. Most of it comes from being on the main highway, with no buffers. We fixed it by turning on the AC. The other noise comes from other guests (I think) sitting outside the rooms, not necessarily in front of the room. I don't think the people were sketchy; just tired and dirty from exploring Dinosaur National Park or other high desert activities. Lots of restaurants nearby, and it shows that the town of Vernal has put a lot of effort into redevelopment. Room itself was old but renovated. The bed was super cute. Frontier meets four poster. Just a lot of limitations on what can be done. Breakfast was good and basic.

Top of my worst stays list. Room was dirty, there was trash and items left from previous stay under nightstand. We left at 3:00am as the people above had a kid running non-stop. We could not sleep. Asked the front desk to assist and they said they would. They did not. I asked for another room and they said we could not move. For safety concerns we did jot stay.

the guest checkin around 8PM, around 3 am called and mentioned the inconvenience. The guest above, family with small children just recently come back to their room . our office tried to mediate this problem with both rooms. We offered the guest to moved to a different room but guest choose to check out therefore nothing we can do to help this guest

Angel at check in was really polite and knowledgeable of the hotel. The food and service were all excellent. I wish I brought a robe. No Robes provided. We are in the brand new remodeled rooms Dec 22’. I think an electric LED fireplace would be awesome inside the empty 19th century brick fireplace. I get you can’t afford that insurance. Tv was in the room. But who watches tv? WiFi was good enough to stream whatever from IPad. Lots of plugs and extensions. All the hot water in the world for shower but takes 10 mins to heat sometimes. Old school steam heated furnace, they give you instructions. Read the paper work they give you. Stuff is old, it’s not all immediate and fast: but it works better than anything we have now.

We had stayed here years ago, when it was a cheap, basic but acceptable place to stay the night before a river expedition. When we showed up this time, it was a different place, more like a residence for "underhoused" folks and some who appeared to be under the influence of drugs. The bedding and carpet had stains, and the floor of the deck had rotted in places. We had already paid but left to find another hotel.

The TV wouldnt work and the staff was gone from the office when I went down to find out the Wi-fi password. Luckily she was nearby and saw me knocking at the door. I had to walk down to the office because no one was answering the phone.

Neat little place for a quick nights stay. Can tell where updates have been made and what still needs attention. Bedding and linens clean and comfortable. Bathroom sink had not been cleaned after someone shaved. Allowed our dog and quiet despite busy area. Was good place to stay.

Nice clean rooms, small fridge and microwave. King bed. BBQ outside if you wanted to grill. Central location in town. Restaurants are within walking distance. Nice place to use as a base to come back to after a long day chasing dinosaurs.
