"The room was clean and the staff were great. The only issue was the bathroom, which had a smell so terrible that we could barely use it. It was difficult to take a shower with the sewer smell coming from the pipes. It did help eventually when we ran some water, but it was the stinkiest room I've ever stayed in. The rest was great. "Look no further if you want a reasonably priced, beautifully maintained and incredibly comfortable hotel. Hôtel Leon is just perfect. It is a 25 minute walk (flat) from the hotel to the centre of Verona, and only 20 minutes from the main railway station. Staff were incredibly welcoming, the room was only the basic room but … wow!!! It had all that we needed, including a very welcome free bottle of water. Well stocked minibar; very reasonable prices! The bed was very comfortable so we had a super night’s sleep despite a howling thunderstorm outside! Didn’t hear a thing! Breakfast was exceptional, lots of choice and plenty of it so none of that awful wait for the bacon to be refilled! We will definitely stay here again when we return to Verona."

"In abit of a down and out part of town, and right next to the train station (which helped for our 2am arrival), we were pleasantly surprised with smooth check in, free room upgrade, comfortable room and magnificent breakfast. Leaves continental breakfasts in the dust! A great option if you are staying in Venice area."

"The rooms could use some updating but the location is fabulous. Breakfast was very good and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were there during the heat and the A/C STRUGGLED to maintain even a 70°F room, which is part of what needs updating. It’s an old old building and I understand the difficulty in maintaining and updating a building like that. Bathroom was great - very spacious. Location and staff is why I would go back."

"We loved our stay here. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful and friendly; they arranged our transportation to and from the hotel via email in advance, provided excellent restaurant recommendations and walking routes, and assisted with rescheduling our departure time after a last-minute flight delay. The family room we stayed in was impeccably clean, comfortable and well-maintained. The included breakfast buffet was delicious and offered an abundance of options. We found the lobby bar to be a great place to recover from long, hot days exploring the city, and our kids claim they make the best Shirley Temple anywhere. Also important: it’s in a very convenient location and has great air conditioning!"
