The lively college life of the University of Alabama takes place amid a picturesque 1,000-acre (400-hectare) campus in the heart of Tuscaloosa. Founded in 1831, it is one of the oldest universities in Alabama. The university is a 10-minute drive from downtown Tuscaloosa. Catch the trolley from the downtown area or walk to the campus along the picturesque Riverwalk Tuscaloosa. If arriving by car then the campus has three pay-and-display car parks.
