"The Pod was amazing, we don’t think the photos do it justice! We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay and would love to visit again. Kevin and Michelle have thought of everything and were excellent with communicating details for directions and check in/out times. The location is brilliant, so close to St Ives and Carbis Bay, and the main bus route is right on the main road. Would highly recommend to anyone considering staying here. "

The Beresford Hotel

"I am writing to formally raise a serious complaint regarding my recent hotel booking and to request a full refund. I have now checked out of the property due to extremely poor conditions that made it impossible for me to continue my stay. Upon arrival, I found that the room was not clean and did not meet basic hygiene standards. The carpet was visibly dirty, and the overall condition of the room was unacceptable for accommodation that was advertised as suitable for guests. In addition, several essential facilities within the property were not functioning properly, including the lift, which was out of service. This created further inconvenience and raised concerns about the maintenance and safety of the property. The condition of the hotel was not as described on the booking platform and did not match the images or expectations provided at the time of reservation. I believe this constitutes a clear case of misrepresentation of services. I immediately raised my concerns with the property staff; however, there was no effective response or effort made to resolve the issues or offer an alternative room in acceptable condition. Due to the lack of action and the unacceptable living conditions, I had no choice but to leave the property and discontinue my stay. I would also like to highlight that this experience caused significant inconvenience and distress, as I had already made travel arrangements expecting a safe and clean environment. I have photo and video evidence documenting"

"Overall, this hotel was great and perfect for the kids. We had dinner and breakfast, both of which were great with very friendly staff. Pool was ideal for our needs. The only slight issue was that the villa room did get quite hot for our taste, even with the patio door open, but wasn’t a major issue. We will be booking again in the future!"

"I recently stayed at this hotel in St Ives and had a very disappointing experience. The room I was given did not match what was shown in the booking photos at all. It felt misleading and not worth the money. Cleanliness was a major issue — the room was not properly cleaned, which made the stay very uncomfortable. Basic services were also missing, and when I raised these concerns with the staff, there was little to no response or effort to resolve the situation. Overall, the lack of cleanliness, poor service, and mismatch between the advertised and actual room made this a very negative experience. I would not recommend this hotel to others and strongly suggest future guests be cautious before booking."

"Staff were lovely, and the property is situated beautifully. However, the property itself needs extensive renovation. The rooms as very dated. The worst part though was how dirty the rooms were, and I mean filthy. All crumbs and think dust on outter edges of carpets. The soap dish in shower was think with black mould and old soap. There is also no aircon (you do get a fan) but the window barely opens and it is like a furnace at night, makes it extremely unpleasant. Only stayed there due to a wedding but would not stay again."
