"Poor wifi, no soap in one of the bathrooms, dirty washer /dryer with no washing powder. Restaurant closed for dinner, reception closed at night so we could not report the rowdy crowd having a party until 3:00 am. "

"This hotel is tired and dated. Whilst the staff make every effort to be great hosts the whole venue lacks any wow factor. The walls are damaged and marked - rips out of wallpaper. There are no lifts so you can expect to carry your own luggage up the stairs. My bathroom was full of hair when I arrived, I asked for it to be cleaned. The manager sent the trainee from the restaurant up to clean with a microfibre cloth - at 10pm they arrived with a vacuum. Dinner was a shambles - ordered a Medium Rare steak - it was medium well, served with YELLOW broccoli and 'bubble n squeak' was mash with cabbage mixed through. To compensate for the state of my room I was offered breakfast complementary - declined. Beds are comfortable, showers need a deep clean to remove all the mold from the edges. Disappointing venue and should not carry the Distinction Branding - no comparison to Christchurch. Management should invest in the whole venue. Expensive accomodation for what received"

"Room was modern, clean and comfortable. Good location in centre of town. HINT make sure you specify parking requirements, basement car park has limited spaces and they are quite tight."

"The rooms were spotlessly, clean, reception was very welcoming, there was everything in the room that you needed, the cleaning staff were absolutely lovely, the queen size bed was extremely comfortable, Also a great location to restaurants down at the basin. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and definitely recommend it"
