Tokyu Stay Ikebukuro has become my go-to when I do my yearly travel to Tokyo! The location is so convenient it’s a 3 min walk to the nearest train station exit C6 with escalators (many exits in Japan are stairs only). There are a lot of actions going on in the area but the hotel is located in a quiet street so you get the best of the two worlds. The staff is super friendly and helpful and my favorite hotel amenity here is def the washer/dryer in unit. I hate taking home dirty clothes so I’m loving doing laundry in the comfort of my own room before heading home. They also provide all sorts of toiletries free for grabs if you need extras (two pairs of slippers in room as well). For the price paid you def get a huge bang of your buck here. Ikebukuro is also a hub for going places in Tokyo on the variety of subway/train lines so I def recommend it!!!

Disappointing front staff. Not helpful to tourists
Front desk staff just not helpful. They refuse to even try to communicate in English, except for 1 lady. She wasnt there all the time. Extremely frustrating to deal with them. You ask them a question and they take 10 minutes to just understand exactly what you want. Then using translate tool, ask you the same question that you asked them. In the end, you have justcwasted your time. We ended up taking help from our hotel staff in Kyoto. They were kind enough to help us wirh things about Tokyo. Some nice things about this hotel. Convenient location and 1 minute walk to the JR/metro stations. Only drawback is thst its not on the main road and is licated on a side street. So on way to this hotel, you have to pass by some adult bars, adult entertainment cebters, sone drunk people. But as soon as you come on the main street, its a whole different thing. Amszing neighborhood. We will not stay at Tokyu Stay next time we visit Japan. It will be some other hotel even if we have to pay slightly more. We will still stay in Ikebukuro since its just amazing and convenient to go to places like Shinjuku (4 stops away), Ginza and Shibuya crossing.

Loved the connivence of the hotels location. Clean room, great to have the washer/dryer available. Easy walking distance to Ikebukuro Station, shopping and food. Lovely staff who were super helpful. Would stay again.

The hotel is so close to the train station, just a few minutes walk. Loved having a washer/dryer in the unit. It does get to be a bit noisy like any other machine, so I would recommend getting ear plugs at daiso if you run it overnight. If you're into it, there are a lot of girls bar and karaoke bars near the hotel so there are a lot of drunk people at night.

Simple straight forward business hotel, with washing machine and dryer in room provided. Good for a place to stay for the night. Quite close to an interchange substation, so accessible to other places as well. 👍

Very friendly and helpful staff. The room is rather spacious as a business hotel in Tokyo especially for its bathroom. The in-unit washer/dryer is the best part! Super walkable and close to the subway station but still very quiet. Would def consider going back next time visiting Tokyo!

Washer n dryer was inside my room, that is a plus point, but room is super tiny, hardly able to walk comfortably. Beside the hotel there is a cafe that serve good breakfast n other meals. Prefer to walk from Exit C1 which is nearer to hotel and also safer bcos the other side is abit complicated as we saw a few drunken man...also there is people singing Karaoke very loudly. For the price i would say is still worth staying here.

The staff were very efficient. I was really impressed that my suitcase left with them for safekeeping 1 week ago and other 2 pieces of luggage send to them the date before from Kyoto were already left in my room.

Worth every penny.
The room and bathroom were bigger than most I’ve stayed at in Japan. The washer was a big bonus. I didn’t mind the lack of house keeping during my 6 day stay. They still came in to clean out the garbage and also gave new towels and pajamas daily. The humidifier in the room was much appreciated because of how dry the heat can get during the winter times in Japan. My hair straightener died on me the day I checked in but the hotel had one to lend me for the duration of my stay!!! Overall, it was a great stay and I would come back. The cracks behind the bed could be a bit dusty but that is minor comparable to all the goods this hotel provided.

The hotel located near Ikebukuro metro exit C1-2 that is very convenient to travel around. The metro walk is connected to the JR line. There is a cloth washing machine provided in the room that is very useful for traveller who stays over a week. The lobby area and breakfast buffet line are small but it is not too bad because we did not spend much time on that. If you plan to stay in ikebukuro I would recommend you to stay here!!

Location is great and the washer and dryer is in your room. You stick your clothes in and come back to it washed and dried. The washer and dryer is one unit. Good places to shop and eat. But the down side is that there are many bars in the area also.
