The location is great and convenient; the facilities and amenities are pretty good; a nice cafe on site with free drinks and a spacious room with contemporary furniture and furnishings, but could be better maintained and cleaned: the carpet in the room, the hallway and the elevator was not very clean and one lighting in the room was not working.

Good location
Location is good. Near to lots of yummy food, subway lines and hostess bars (wink wink), which is typical for Tokyo business district. The coffee shop at the first floor can get very crowded. It makes it a very strange lobby. The rooms are big. But improvements on cleaniless are needed. Lots of women hair in toilet.

Great location. Very welcoming for visitors
Good hotel overall. Friendly and international staff Quite clean and the room was quite big for Tokyo standard. The mattress was freaking hard, even for the local standard. Disappointment with the gym which was non-existent ! Not a problem but I would not mark or advertise it on their details.

Was spacious and the staff were very friendly. The only negative was that there was no tea/coffee in the room because they have 24 hour coffee in the lobby. That means you have to get up and dressed before you can have your morning coffee.

Insomnia Hotel Akasaka is a really good option If you are looking for a clean, simple, well laid out and a good size room in central and good location. Regarding the room just only one con : the carpet, no doubt It needs at least some kind of refresh. The TV has CNN, Netflix and several quite good movies for free. Akasaka Metro station is 5 minutes walk from the hotel main entrance, and 12 minutes walk you'll find another 2 metro station: Akaska Mitsuke and Tameiko Sanno from where you can get more than just one Metro line and this , make it easier to go around the city. Akasaka is a lively area with a lot of dinning (or lunch) options, convenience stores shops and some small marts and grocery stores The lobby actually is not a regular or typical hotel lobby, is a pretty cool cafeteria (Unir) which is open 24 hs. This mean that you will always find someone at the check in counter. No hassle and super fast reservation, check in and check out process. The staff at the check in counter and the cafeteria are very friendly and always alert to help you and ready to answers your questions. two thumbs up for them. The hotel has no breakfast option, and it make sense when the lobby is a big, confortable and cool cafeteria where you can have breakfast while enjoying a fast and free wifi. But just for the hotel customers there's something good : from7.00 am to 22.00 free coffee or te !! and the latte, is really good. We did have a great time at Insomnia Hotel Akasaka.

The size of the 55 room is spectacular by Japanese standards. When I read reviews before getting here some said the beds are hard, this is true. Ok for a few days but my back and hips have suffered. Otherwise, it's fantastic value for money and a really nice neigbourhood, close to the subway, a supermarket and awesome ramen just across the street, and a 24 hour convenience store on the first corner to the liftoff the front door. Japanese staff and people in general are strictly rule oriented. We were very jet-lagged and bright-eyed and bushy tailed at 3 am. The coffee shop downstairs had beautiful pastries which I asked to buy and they would NOT sell them to me until 6 am and cappuccino's strictly start a 7am. I can't tell you how frustrating that was for me! There was no-one else there!!! Japanese staff were immovable. There was a night staff worker there on some days from a European country, at 3 am one morning I asked him for croissants and he said "sure...no problem"...just a small insight into the cultural differences you will encounter. In any case, me, my wife and 10 year old daughter loved it and would definitely stay here again...but buy your croissants the night before at a convenience store ;o)

Our espresso menu start at 7 am, when the barista begins to work. We lament the inconvenience caused. Regarding the pastries, we do not have a specified time and it could be sell once baked. You mentioned the difference between western and oriental staff. We think that having a multicultural is a good way to can correspondence to guest from many countries. Very spacious especially for a place like Tokyo known for rooms that average no larger than 18 sq meters. An old building refusbished tastefully with a good cafe below that make some great cuppa. A good hang out area for private and business meetings.

Boutique Hotel with Contemporary Vibe
Absolutely love the hotel concept and exceptional vibe, very much similar to another boutique hotel chain I’ve stayed in Frisco and NYC. Nothing else I’d ask for when I’m a tea guzzler and caffeine addict as there’s free flow in the lobby.

So many restaurants nearby!
Our room was huge! When we opened the door there was a small separate entrance to leave our shoes, bags and umbrellas. Slippers awaited us at the carpeted area. There was a small kitchenette and three large closets after entering and before stepping into the main room. The living and work area shared a large common space with the bed. We had a large balcony facing a cemented park, like a resting place for business persons on break. The bathroom was a bit dated and small but the shower had great water pressure making for a relaxing bath. The bed, unfortunately, was the most uncomfortable bed over ever slept in. But..we ordered up four extra pillows and it helped us sleep better. The room had a free phone with free WiFi and data to use throughout the city during our stay. I logged into my Facebook, gmail, and Instagram and was able to navigate the city and take pictures. It was wonderful! It erased all info before we checked out. Great feature! Nearby are so many places to eat within walking distance! We didn’t know where to start. I’m talking dozens.

Location was great! Three minute walk to train station. Lots of eateries in the area. Centrally located to see all areas of Tokyo. Friendly staff, clean and great amenities. Would stay there again

I’ve stayed at the Innsomnia several times and enjoyed it, but I think this will be my last. The free coffee in the lobby is great. Excellent location. WiFi is good. The 50 size rooms are great but the 35 I was in was gloomy because the windows were opaque. But the main problems are : all rooms have Venetian blinds and it’s impossible to keep them dark enough for sleep in the mornings ; there is only one elevator and sometimes you have to wait for a very long time for it ; despite the refurbishment the bathrooms are still dated although very clean. Having said all this its main selling point is the huge suite-like rooms compared to other hotels in its price bracket. Book a 50 size and take a sleep mask.

Good location and large room but...
Good location and large room but still room for improvement... The check in took too long and that really started my frustration. After that I had to wait for the elevator; there is only 1 elevator and it took ages for it to come every time... Also the reception and the rooms are quite stylish, but the bathroom was very old and could use an update. All and for all not too bad, but I did not keep a very good memory

Great hotel very close to the metro lines making it really easy to get around. Rooms larger than your typical Japanese hotel. Staff always helpful and the free coffee from the in house coffee shop was amazing.
