"We were disappointed that there was no food on the evening we arrived or any breakfast provided. This was not made clear to us. Also there were a great deal of stairs for us who are elderly and my husband is disabled walking with two sticks. When I phoned and mentioned this I was told that there is a ramp!!!! which there was in to the back door. Also It would be good to have written directions on how to access the parking. "

"Nice hotel, clean, excellent staff attentiveness, comfortable beds, serene quiet environment, lovely breakfasts, good restaurant, easy to get to places, not expensive, and plenty of parking. The wooden Four-poster bedroom is highly recommended."

"Smooth check in, lovely breakfast, hotel great, location ideal. Unfortunately traffic was loud not hotels fault and our shower tray creeked the whole time you stood on it. Would recommend for the price."

"Room was clean, but hardly any storage or hanging space. Good shower with plenty of hot water. Room very nojsy at night with passing traffic. Buffet style breakfast, but no hot food. Not enough bowls for cereal, or cups for brews. Okay for a weekend away, but any longer you'll be struggling to keep your clothes tidy."

"A gorgeous little place with even lovelier owners. Nothing was too much trouble. Our dog loved it. Beds were lovely and comfy. Everything well equipped. In a great location - easy to find and easy access to York centre. Will definitely return when we visit York again."

"The Lodge was nice and clean and tidy and spacious, we loved the hot tub! In General a nice place, could do with a few maintenance updates, one of the single Divans have seen better days, the Shower in the Ensuite doesn't get very warm. All in all, its a very cosy lodge with some great added features a little bit of maintenace fixing this would then be an amazing break"
