「It was stepping in to beautiful history with the friendliest most accommodating staff around. Truly special and delicious food.」

「Great staff, friendly and attentive. Amazing food, real ale, extensive wine list. Reminiscent of how hotels used to be before corporate takeovers」

「The Blue Lion is ideally situated for a stop over when making a long journey to Cornwall. The room was well equipped and comfortable. There is some traffic noise from the road, but that did not spoil our one night stay. The staff were welcoming and the locals were friendly. The evening meal was excellent. I would stay here again if travelling in this area.」

「Good location in the centre of the town. The room was at the top of the stairs and the floor was quite wobbly, due to the age of the inn. The room was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast」

「Our room was well maintained and we like staying in unique, historic properties. A bath in the nook in front of the window seemed a little strange. 「Clean tidy and staff friendly」

「Our new favourite place, absolutely faultless. Food is exceptional, a significant step up from your normal pub grub. Our little pooch was also made to feel incredibly welcome and even served with her own little platter of treats. A beautifully clean and well presented restaurant experience that welcomes anyone whether it be special celebrations or a party of hikers that have just conquered Dartmoor. 100% we will be back and bringing friends and family.」

「Lovely room at Bearslake. Everything was set up for us on arrival. Breakfast hamper was lovely」

「This B&B hotel was beyond our expectation, really nice and warm feeling staying there. Only 10 min driving to Plymouth downtown, quite and comfortable. Nice and traditional building with good experience. Good breakfast and condition that we really enjoy staying there for 2 nights. If you want to experience traditional English style pub and food as well as feeling, Don't miss it.」
