「This was a lovely place to stay which we chose partly because it has some EV charging facilities. The restaurant and bar have a good selection with well kept beer and the staff are helpful and friendly. We especially recommend the panna cotta, however, all the food was good. The bedroom and bathroom were a good size and well appointed with tea, coffee and water. We would visit again 」

「Lovely stay. Our room had previously been the old public bar, so was huge! Decor was a little tired and could do with a refresh (especially the bathroom - such a wasted opportunity not to put a bigger bath in there)! The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious - such a treat to have kippers, being on a ban at home for them! Would recommend and definitely stay again!」

「Was surprised it was a motel-style setting with windows overlooking the car-park. Quite a bit less picturesque compared to all other places we stayed on St Cuthbert’s Way. Food at dinner was good but a bit pricey compared to other inns and there was no table-service.」

There was no soap in the room or enough toilet roll so it would have been good to have been warned that I would need these. The shower head was broken. The rice ran out ...who runs out of rice? Some staff were extremely friendly and organised other quite the opposite. Breakfast was quite shambolic with insufficient tables set for everyone and items continually running out. The options were very poor for such an expensive hotel. Sadly they don't need to...
