Sorry you had trouble making your reservation on-line reflect the actual number of guests in each room. It is also unfortunate that you did not come to the office the morning after your very late arrival, to complete your registration, receive your receipts and Internet password. I think better planning would help your enjoyment of reserved lodging on future travels.

Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Other than that the furnishings were VERY outdated, table was wobbly, bathroom outdated, room is poorly lit, "TV" was a 26" monitor waaaayy across the room, etc. When you arrive you are immediately hit with rules - parking signs, then when you check in you have to sign a paper with a list of rules (and their associated fines). Inside the room are more rules. While there is a kitchenette one rule is no frying anything, so forget your bacon and sausage breakfast.

Yes, no frying of bacon or fish or other foods in rooms. Subsequent guests will thank you. If you do fry, subsequent guests will curse you. Rules are typical of all hotels when you check in, we just ask you to read and understand them.

Idaho, because of the low vaccination rates for the Delta Covid variant, has caused conservative property owners to be off the grid in terms of stay restrictions. If you are traveling on your own or as a couple and do not seek to have visitations from friends this is a great place. If you would expect to have visitors over at any level forget it. They will not be admitted to your unit - very restrictive practices here,

The Valley Creek Lodge was a great spot for us. The check-In process was very smooth and everyone was super friendly, from the housekeeper to the owner. The location is so convenient to area restaurants and Stanley Lake hikes and the place was spotless. We would stay again for sure.

The rooms are very large and have a kitchenette which makes them a great spot for a Stanley vacation. Super clean and well-cared for. Nice views out the front and back and a great location to get wherever you are headed in the area.

Scenery right outside our door was beautiful. Did not like the fact that you needed some sort of TV "membership" (Comcast) to be able to watch the television. We had no TV for the 2 days we were there, but survived.

Chromecast allows you to watch your favorite channels for which you are already subscribed. It is not Comcast. It is programs streaming over the Internet. It is one of the reasons we provide such fast Internet service. Glad that you enjoyed your stay otherwise.

I loved the balcony on the front and back of the room. I love the very relaxed vibe that I get from being there. There are seats that are along the little creek that faces a small mountain. Great for viewing the antelope which seem to come every morning down to the water and graze in the field. I didn’t expect to have room service, but every day , the room was cleaned and fresh soap and shampoo was brought in. The beds were very comfortable and they have an outdoor patio area for folks to grill, if you are interested in that. Love the place.

I definitely recommend
We were pleasantly surprised by this little hotel. Rooms were clean and airy. I really liked the back door with beautiful views of the mountains. Very well taken care of property with decks, flowers, little outside tables. I would definitely return if I am ever in Stanley again.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Place seemed incredibly clean. Check in was easy. The only thing to note is the lack of air conditioning. Probably doesn't matter in Stanley most of the time, but worth mentioning. Kitchen is stocked with all housewares one may need if you plan on cooking for yourself during your stay. Does seem like there are a lot of rules posted around everywhere, but its all common sense stuff. Man who runs the place is probably just tired of dealing with tourists.

Perfect location for what we wanted to do in Stanley, being only an 11 minute drive from our trailhead. Extremely clean facility that is obviously well cared for. I especially appreciated that the owner was still so health conscious around the fact that the pandemic is not yet over. When we return, we hope to get a room here again. Exceptionally clean
Our room was much larger than expected and was spotlessly clean, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. The owners clearly take pride in the property. We followed the advice of other reviewers and requested a room on the second floor. The floors did seem a bit squeaky and I'm not sure we would have enjoyed our stay as much if we'd been on the ground floor. The walls are thin and we could hear our neighbors quite clearly after they returned to the room around 11:00 p.m. I almost got up to ask them to try to keep the noise down but they finally quieted down around midnight, allowing us to fall asleep.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Walls are insulated with fiberglass batting, but we do ask all guests to keep it down after 10:00 PM out of respect for others. It is a wooden lodge so it has its own personality including some squeaks in the floors. It is not your reinforced concrete motel, replicated 100 times over all across the USA.

Fantastic! The room was very clean, beds comfortable, the views out front and back windows were beautiful! The owner is a gentleman, very helpful, and friendly to us. Ask for upstairs room, it’s an old structure with squeaky floors. Overall, it was the best room we had in our 2 week vacation.

We like it was a small hotel with beautiful scenery. Of the sawtooth mountains What we didnt like was check out is at 10 am. Its husband and wife who own rhe place . The hotel has 7 rooms available. Our room was nice. Qe went with family we were able to be right next door to eachother. It has a small walkable wooden sidewalk in back . All the rooms has a back door to see the beautiful scenery of the mountains, its only 10-15 miles from red fish lake. Check in 3 pm Check out 10 am

There is nothing wrong with this hotel. Everything is great and works perfectly. I'm not sure how other hotels are in Stanley, but I paid $180 and that was very overpriced for what it is.

Glad you enjoyed your stay in spite of the creaks. The lodge is a wooden building which does have creaks, not with every step, but creaks are part of the character of the lodge. Reinforced concrete construction in other areas where you may have travelled do not have such creaks.

The views from both the back and front decks are beautiful. The room is clean and the kitchenette is functional. It could use a couple of wine glasses but no biggie. The beds are super comfortable. We stayed in an upstairs room. There are only 8 rooms so it is quiet. I’d stay here again. Thank you.

When checking we said possibly could have an extra person and they charged me extra. They were rude and the room was dirty. Paid 198 for my 3 year old an I to stay on a Thursday night. Will never go back and will not recommend to anyone coming up.

Our rates are based on occupancy. At check in we ask how many persons will be in the room. In this case they replied that there might be an extra person. We asked that they clarify if there would be an extra person or not. They decided to allow for the additional person, hence the room rate for the allowed occupancy. When booking on-line, the correct rate is automatically generated when you identify the correct number of persons that will be in the room. That helps avoid unpleasant surprises upon check in. We know that the room was not dirty when they arrived. We are sorry for any confusion or misunderstanding about room occupancy and the rates that apply.

A bit disappointing
I was a little disappointed mostly because other very positive reviews. The room was spacious and clean, the outside seating is very charming and, as we were traveling with small children, the full kitchen was a big plus. But we also had several issues. Our room was located on the bottom floor and the floor upstairs is VERY creaky. The individuals residing on the second floor stayed up late and walked around up to 2-3am. I am not a light sleeper but I could hear every step they took because the flooring was making so much noise whenever they would walk. Thankfully the kids did not wake up but my husband and I had a very tough time. Also, the person working there was a bit grumpy and initially said she cannot give me two extra towels I asked for (they gave us two and there was four of us in the room). I am not sure why this would be a big deal to get four towels for four individuals - but eventually we did receive extra towels. Anyhow - overall, did not work out for us!

You had four large bath towels in your room at all times. Two are on a rack in the bathroom, two more in the bookshelf unit just outside the bathroom. When you were provided two more towels, you then had six towels in the room for the four occupants. Sorry you were bothered by the creaky floors.

I loved the location! It has a beautiful view in the front and back of the building. I didn't like the luke warm shower or never ending loop of the same bad movies, after a day of hiking and paddleboarding. I found the agreement of room stanards incredibly strict, especially the one on no visitors in the room.

Yes, inviting others into your room to use the facilities is a longstanding prohibition. With the pandemic it takes on additional importance. Most people understand, but some feel impositioned.
