Black Sands Inn

Black Sands Inn

10/10 Excellent
"If you’re looking for a place to get away from everything for a while, this is the place to do just that. My stay at the Black Sands Inn was one of the best places I’ve stayed at. The room was clean and comfortable but what I really liked about it was how close it was to the ocean and tide pools. The view was fantastic and it was very easy to get down to the beach. Plus the hot tub was great. Shelter Cove was amazing. It’s quiet and secluded, the locals are very friendly, but they roll up the sidewalks around 7 PM so make sure you bring lots of food and drinks with you because you’re not going to want to drive up that really steep windy road just to get a midnight snack. There are no vending machines or convenience stores anywhere in Shelter Cove."

"The stay was ok. The location was beautiful, however, there was no ac or fan and the room became hot and stale. We ended up opening the balcony door to get some ventilation in the room."

"When we came and drove to check in the man at the desk, opened the window and said do you have a placard? I was like yes, we have a handicap pass. When we went in to check in, he was pretty rude and short. Told us how he was tired. He had only had two hours of sleep not really exactly how you should be treated when you walk in. You have it down as a luxury place to stay and I wouldn’t exactly call it that there was no housekeeping service when we were there. Overall, it was very clean, but the outside could use a little work. The heater was so loud that it woke us up in the middle of the night. The staff the next day they had to leave multiple times on a smoke break. Just makes the whole place feel a little off."

"The building is a little older and is showing it' age in some spots. Overall I had an excellent stay. Next time I will aim for a room upstairs for more privacy. Being able to walk from the back deck right tonthe coast is nice, but i did not anticipate how many people would be on the path in front of that glass door."

Oceanfront Inn at Shelter Cove

"The view from our room was excellent. The person who greeted us when we arrived was excellent and went above and beyond to meet our needs. The bedding was clean but dingy in color. The bathroom could use updating. There is a really cute coffee shop that serves breakfast in the building. I wish we had known about in advance. Hope we get to come back in the future."
