"The hotel was old and uncomfortable. Didn’t find my booking and had to wait around for over 30 minutes for it to be confirmed despite showing evidence the room was booked.
Won’t stay again. "

"Great one-night stay at the Queens Head Hotel. Excellent location and convenient parking behind the accommodation (£15 overnight). Staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious—old but quaint"

"We adored our stay and wish we had more time to spend here. What a wonderful country setting in a traditional B &B. Beautiful chapel views from our room which also overlooked a sweet field with sheep. We were welcomed at the door and bid goodbye personally. The cooked to order breakfast was wonderful and thoughtfully prepared and laid out. We would love to return if we are lucky enough to do so. True gem!!! Suzie and Wes from Oregon."

"Friendly staff, on-site parking. Beds were comfortable and room was clean.
Narrow staircase, no lift do big or heavy suitcases could be a challenge.

"Had a room at the back with a tiny window at the top that we couldn't see anything out of or open, aircon didn't work, remote for tv missing and no shower gel in the container. We went and changed rooms and the staff were very helpful, probably because we shouted a little at them. New room, aircon was still not great but at least we could open the window to let some air in. Rooms are looking tired and could do with a refub for the money you pay for them. It was games expo and we took to the stairs as the lifts were very busy and one was closed off. As for the stair ways, they've not been swept in years, there was that much dust and hair in them you could knit a jumper. Breakfast was good and the staff were cleaning all the time and kept the tables available."
"As always another great stay. Made to feel welcome by all the staff I had contact with. Room was spotless and bed very comfy. Breakfast was tasty and hot and a good choice of items. Again, the breakfast staff were friendly and helpful.
Great location for the casino with decent food
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel."
"Clean room but very dated. Was on the ground floor at the back of the hotel. The room was hotter than the sun so had to sleep with the window open. Also found the latch to lock the window was broken so could be easily opened from the outside anyway.
I used the leisure facilities which were good but also dated. I didn’t eat in the hotel but did have a drink at the bar.
The staff were really friendly and helpful and a perfect location for the NEC (15min walk)"
"As of June '26, the hotel is very newly refurbished (ongoing in some areas). The room was immaculatly clean and spacious, bedding very comfortable. The hotel is easy walking distance to NEC halls, and not far to the train station and airport, but tucked away so quieter than many other hotels on the campus, which we liked. There were only a few disappointments: on arrival we were told a "plumbing problem" meant our room was unavailable so we were sent to the nearby Ibis hotel for the first night of our two night stay, which was a significant downgrade and no compensation was offered for this. We then received contradictory information about whether a room would be available the following night (in the end, it was). All the staff were polite (with one exception of the lady who answered the phone on the first night), though they did all seem uniformly exhausted and worn down. The second disappointment was the buffet breakfast. While the food itself was adequate, they either didn't have enough staff on shift, or good enough procedures in place to keep everything stocked up and there were guests regularly waiting for clean cups/plates/replenished food items. Ironically, the breakfast we had at the Ibis on our first day was far superior. I expect as the refurbishment is concluded and staff/systems settle in this will become a 'great' hotel. For our stay, however, it was just 'good'."
