It is in good location where there are lots of restaurants and choices. The daily breakfast is adequate.

Not worthful to pay 155 dollers for night. Breakfast was worst. tables was not cleaned, i didnt eat breakfast after visit restaurant.Only one thing i can apprecieate is they call a taxi on my request. Rest almost was worst in this price .

J8 hotel is in a convenient area next to lots of smaller shops (little India and Arab street) so it is good for halal food. The staff are accommodating and allowed us to have an earlier check in which was very convenient. We had a twin size room which was just as pictured, the bed was comfy and everything was clean. Our only complaint is that there was a musky/sweat smell from the room and corridor - but we know it was extremely hot and humid in Singapore so we do not blame the hotel, as soon as the AC was switched on this was fixed.

The gold twin room is very small and quite deceiving from the photos. Need to walk up stairs to room. Weird design. Provided towels that are torn. breakfast is good with four choices of Vietnamese food.

20th anniversary
Staff was nice and friendly and very helpful. They were able to give us an early check in since we arrived so early. They even upgraded our room to a private floor and bigger. The downside was you had to take two flights of stairs to get to it with all your luggage in tow. The area is nice and safe and clean and close to two train stations and down the street from mustufa center. Breakfast was good too. Everything was made to order and fresh everyday. They made sure to provide local cuisine for the locals and western cuisine for like waffles and eggs for us Americans.

Basic and simple stay for single and short stay
Stayed for a couple of times in the past. It’s a basic and simple hotel for temporary stay. Room was small but adequately enough for a single needs. Amenities are there and okay. My only suggestion for improvement is the cleanliness. Found a bunch of hairs on the floor and since no slippers were provided, I find it’s quite an issue. For the single room, the rain shower is just on top of the bathroom and after showering, the entire floor will be wet. With no slippers provided, you’ll feel a bit uncomfortable walking around. For this price point and with a basic breakfast provided, it’s negligible though. you have privacy and private bathroom all by yourself vs a dorm or capsule hotel.

The service counter seems like unhappy people. I thought I chose 2 twin beds, but they say I didn't choose and only single double bed available. I booked a premium silver w twin beds n window for 100usd a night. First room given was fill with bleach smell with a utility fanning the room and no window with crack walls. We insisted another room, finally they did gave us another room with window. Still single bed but w window n no smell. Very small room. Breakfast was little choices with few basic set to order. I rented an umbrella and got a broken one. Location is 10 min from metro. Consider nice quiet and safe area. But for that price as 1 bed, plenty other choices and its better to get closer to busy area or train station.

Room is very small and expensive. Drainage for the shower is slow so the bathroom floods. Mattress has holes in and is very hard. Breakfast was horrible and they have ants in there food along with the staff who have a really bad attitude. Area is okay but the hotel seems to host more Indians and is quite uncomfortable as all they do is stare at you.

The staff at this fairly small hotel are nice and helpful. It’s located in an area that has some very good options for meals, drinks and shopping as the Mustafa Centre is just a 5 minute walk away. There are also two underground train stops nearby (which was really easy to use when buying tickets and going through the barriers). My room was on the small side. There was nothing to lay my suitcase on. No proper wardrobe. Just an external bar to hang clothes on and some hooks. I could not get the AC to work, no matter how many different permutations I tried. The toilet would not stop flushing all through the night, it just kept on gushing out a small amount of water into the toilet bowl and was a bit noisy. There was no partition for the shower, and so therefore the shower water just goes everywhere in the bathroom including all over the toilet. I was only staying for one night and so I made do. But if I had been staying for longer, then I would have raised a few issues. But I mostly regarded everything as teething problems. The breakfast was good allthough there could have been better options for fruit, soft drinks and cereal. But the cooked breakfast included scrabbled eggs, bacon and waffles. The coffee was quite good also. Considering the shortcomings, the room rate is too expensive. It was still rather expensive even with the discount I had received from Expedia but I think in general it’s more suitable for a short rather than long stay.

VERY noisey outside was our rooms. Window shutters aren’t secure. We had hot air flowing in from the window not being able to close. The AC worked but not well. It never got truely cold even after running it all night. Bathroom was small but fine.

The staff were really nice, especially the lady who could spoke Cantonese. She was exceptionally altruistic and enthusiastic. The other staff were also helpful and friendly. Great experiences overall !!!!

This hotel is conveniently situated just 5 minutes walk from two big shopping centres. The room was clean and once you come in and put A/C on it becomes comfortable. We had a twin windowless room on the ground floor. Had a kettle, tea & coffee and went to the restaurant to get a cup of milk. The bathroom had a good shower and toiletries but only one towel, no hand towel. Breakfast is included and a nice touch is having the contents of the mini bar complimentary, water bottles, cans & chocolates! On Sunday afternoon taxi to airport was $17, after 6pm till midnight flag fall doubles. After breakfast we took bus 133 to Marina Bay after getting directions from front desk. They have a very good map showing streets around the hotel and directions to many places of interest. Very helpful staff.
