I understand that the check - in process is all digital for convenience but it helps to have a reception desk at least. The room does not look like it's in the picture. I got a room in the attic, no privacy curtains either. just a large room with a lot of beds. A lot of stairs to go up. also unisex bathroom on our floor made it a little uncomfortable. It was ok experience. Right across from the china town subway station though. which is a plus point.

I used to stay with 5footway. Facilities and atmosphere are at the same standard. This time, I just used the check-in machine and it's difficult to use. The booking number from Expedia did not work with the machine. I have to call staff. They should send us the real booking number (to key in the machine). Also, found some un-convenient with the machine.

Chinatown's heart?
The hostel has a location that is hard to beat. I have been staying there for several years now but recently they have made a few changes that make the stay a little less pleasant. The main ones being the lack of kitchen facilities (like a fridge or plates or even cups) and lack of bag storage. A secondary one is the automated check in system that seems to cause more problems than it solves. While I was there most people using the system had to call for help at least once if not multiple times. It is still a great place to stay but these little things do detract from the overall experience.

- There's no specific men's for shower room and toilet, there is one women shower room while men is none. Women come to use shower room on upper floor for full while the one which provide for women on below is no usage and men couldn't go in because it's for women. - The price for washing and laundry is too expensive

Hostel not hotel.
$10 non-refundable for a second room key is a bit much. We stayed with my mother in law who is 83 and there isn’t any mention of restricted access. This place would appeal to young folks who are hosteling in Singapore. Check in was a pain!

it was quite strange that we had to do self-check in by ourself. Moreover, we got a huge problem about the booking number, the booking number's Expedia was not matched with the booking number of hostel. We took a lot of time to check in but not successful. I had tried to call to service center at kiosk but nothing helpful. Fortunately, we found a staff and requested him for solving this issues, finally it was done. I'm wonder that if the staff was not here, how this issues will be solved. Moreover, I do not recommend this hostel if you have flight at the evening or night because there is no reception anymore. It mean you cannot keep luggage at the hotel. You have to carry your luggage around.

Clean Hostel near Train Station
This is the best backpacking place I've stayed at. Just clean and comfy and secure for the price. Toilet and bathroom are cleaned according to a cleaning roster and they have for female and male separately. The most convenient thing is that is found near the train station and this gave me ease of travelling and coming back at night. It is found on one of Chinatown road and 7-eleven and restaurants and shops are at close distance. The staff are friendly and will come at your help.

I'm happy to be back, and with friends this time. The staff of 5FootWay Inn remains as their most valuable asset. They are everything that the song "Alive, Alert, Awake, Enthusiastic" sings of. My bed has the most perfect pillow and blanket. It seems that there are only 2 lockers in our bedroom for six though. It's fewer than what the inn had before. I'm thinking how room odor can be managed because it tends to smell like shoes when footwear are brought in from outside. Aside from this inevitable occurrence, all else about the inn's cleanliness is commendable, considering that the t&b are shared. Will keep recommending this place.

Right Next To the Chinatown MRT
Staff are super friendly and helpful. Free breakfast and Hot Drinks each morning. Rooms are clean. Rates are inexpensive. Close to nearby food court and Train station.

Hotel nearby MRT Chinatown
Stayed at private room with one bulk bed. -Hotel a bit hard to find because of the CNY stalls (not sure is it temporary). -Shared bathroom quite small but provided good smelling shampoo. -Room has a bit musty smell due to no window in the room. -Pillow and blanket has washed and having good smell. -Mattress a bit sinked in the middle (Bottom).

This hostel is in the middle of Chinatown. About 20 steps from the subway exit.\ The next subway station is about an 8 minute walk, so it's easy to get around Singapore on any train line. This saved me a lot of time. The rooms are nice and the breakfast is ok. There was nothing to complain about.

Super close to the MRT station
This hotel was super close to the MRT station. Basically once you come out from the MRT at the Pagoda Street's exit, that's the the location of this Inn. Overall is good, I love their breakfast too XD. The only things is the size of the toilet. The are 2 toilets in my floor which one is acceptable but the other was very small. This Inn is best for teenager or young generation. I don't think the elders will like this... They really done a good job, recommended for the young generations. Thanks.

The room smelled of moldy odor, no top sheet. I slept in my clothes and the showers are men and women. I booked for 3 nights and stayed 3 hours. Refund requested. Oh and I had a private room at $40a night.
