I think this resort is in a great location. Love the beach, seating, drinks and the daily 2 for 1 specials. On arrival though, we got little to no direction on where our room was, or even a general overview - that would have been helpful.

Be sure to lock your valuables in the safe. Wife kept her wedding rings in a small jewelry bag that was kept in the dresser since she didn’t want to wear them for breakfast/pool area. Come back and room was cleaned. Getting ready to go out to dinner that night and wedding band is missing. Unfortunately no proof that cleaning team took it, but it was sure a coincidence.Report it missing, but we already knew it was gone. You never think it will happen to you until it does. Icing on top of the cake is when I went to refuel rental car and gas station charged credit card 400 dollars and then gave me receipt for another charge for the gas. Did not see notification until we were back to resort.

I enjoyed my stay at SBMR. We visited 3 of the pools on property and the beach. We didn’t eat at any of the restaurants, however the rooms had a full kitchen so I was able to cook breakfast some mornings. The property had plenty of parking available if you get a rental car. My only issue is the layout of the property. It’s not walkable so you really don’t get to see the entire hotel only the area your room is located, however they do provide shuttle service. The hotel is centrally located near night life, plenty of restaurants and grocery store.

El desayuno estuvo muy bien solo que cuando pusieron el huevo frito en el anime se derritió y sabia raro. La habitación tenía vista a la playa espectacular. El aire acondicionado no estaba funcionando bien, hizo calor . El piso muy resbaladizo.

The hotel itself was average and clean, the kids were happy because they mainly wanted to enjoy the pool and the sea — and those needs were met. What really affected our stay, though, was how we were treated by some of the staff. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced this before in parts of the Caribbean, and it’s disappointing every time. There were moments where we were clearly ignored in ways that others were not. For example, the beach staff refused to set up an umbrella and chairs for us, telling us to find an existing one at the back, while other guests were being set up right at the front by the water. I needed to be near the shoreline so I could watch my kids safely, but that courtesy wasn’t extended to us. Similarly, spa staff walked around offering menus to everyone except us. We had actually planned to book treatments, but after being overlooked like that, we decided not to. Despite these experiences, we absolutely LOVE St. Maarten — the island itself is wonderful, and we always enjoy being there. It’s just disappointing when moments like these take away from what should be a joyful visit, especially given that the Caribbean is my own heritage and yet I’m made to feel unwelcome while enjoying the progress we’ve all worked hard for.

Room very clean with a fully equipped kitchen! The staff at front desk and in general are pretty helpful, never bother you and they always answer if asked. The included breakfast buffet was ok. Nothing great or bad to say about it… but the view from the table and the beaches in general, or the pools!!! Absolutely beautiful!

My kids and I enjoyed our stay! We got a 1BR Deluxe Suite and our view from the balcony was beautiful! Convenient location, within walking distance (for active people) of various beaches, restaurants and activities such as Captains Rib Shack, Skip Jacks, and Lotus Night club. Shuttle service to/from the main strip and around the resort was prompt, with the exception of one time our entire stay. The room decor is a little dated, but our room was clean upon arrival. Although I declined housekeeping for the length of our stay, they were present on our floor daily. The breakfast included was decent. Staff from front desk to shuttle drivers and servers were all polite and accommodating. My kids want to give a shoutout to Mr. Mac on the shuttle! Pools were well maintained and swim up bar was a nice touch.

A great hotel. We were all the way at the top of a hill. Thankfully we are in shape that it was fine. But someone disabled or overweight would not be able to walk that. Tons of space at the pools. Food at the restaurants was very good. We loved it and got our exercise.
