It can be a bit inconvenient without a car, but there’s a bus stop right in front of the hotel that runs at specific times and goes to the nearest train station, Shiojiri. "Location of its facility is surrounded by magnificent and beautiful mountains with lots of green, atmosphere is totally different from big city Tokyo. The owner of pension is quite friendly, and capable to treat guest with "omotenashi" from his long experience. "

"Easy to park. Wife would give it 4 stars. 6 yr old would give 5 stars for the rock climbing wall. No lift for 2nd floor rooms and would have life more space to open suitcases but overall nice place to stay."

"I don’t believe this accommodation justify the cost if you will stay at this property without dinner and breakfast. I was able to reduce the expense for a night to c. $55 by using Expedia credits equal to $30, but if I didn’t have it, I would recommend to stay another one. Far from the center of Matsumoto Nothing was around the property Nothing would be provided to kids, such as amenities, welcoming tea and snacks, basically. "The hotel is well located at lake front, although our room was on the lower floor and the view was a bit blocked by the fence outside the windows. The staff were extremely helpful and the one served us could speak English. The food was good.The private bath (fee required) inside the public bath has half glass walls so not so private except exclusive use of the facility .Given the price we paid included a free tour of the shrines, we considered it's value for money."
