Breakfast was very good, staff were excellent. The hotel is tired in places but seems to be on the up. We have stayed there many times because of the location and pool. Carpets in some of the rooms need a deep clean. We plan to stay again in a few weeks time.

Clean room and comfortable bed, but the whole property is very tired and in need of major renovation. Rotten woodwork, peeling wallpaper, and a very dated bathroom. Small swimming pool, ok for kids. Friendly staff and efficient check in. Inexpensive and adequate for a one night stay.

The room was clean, and the bed was comfy. The double glazed window didn't open and had 'blown' so full of condensation. The dining area and bar were in good order, some parts of the hotel looked in need of renovations/decorating. Breakfast was good, staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. I felt the immediate surrounding gardens would benefit from a big tidy up.

The building is in a poor state of repair, sad to see. Window frames are crumbling, fixtures are missing or loose, causing erosion of function.

This beautiful listed building is set in very peaceful and calm grounds. The staff are really helpful and friendly. We loved the jacuzzi, swimming pool and sauna. The owners have plans to update the rooms whilst keeping the wonderful character of the hotel. We loved our stay here.

Nice hotel in beautiful surroundings however the decor is very tired. The staff were very friendly and hospitable and the leisure facilities were good. There is a very limited food menu on offer in the bar and the quality of the food was mediocre at best.

The hotel was in need of some tender loving care. It had clearly been a formidable building in its day and stood in extensive grounds but 3 centuries of wear have not been kind. There was no problem with cleanliness and the staff were excellent. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. We chose this hotel because of the leisure facilities and we were not disappointed. The swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi were invigorating. The steam room was out of order during our stay but that did not detract from our enjoyment.

Definitely does not match the pictures on websites. Missing drawer handles in room. Toilet door swollen and won't close. Hallways are filthy. Piles of dead flies and wasps on window sills. Damp everywhere. Ceiling falling in with leaks. Wallpaper hanging off walls. Curtains hanging off rails and filthy. Door of room bangs every time someone else opens a door. As for the spa. All of the showers handles in the male changing rooms are damaged to the point were it breaks skin to turn on and off. Roof of main pool area in poor repair. Sealants of windows in the roof hanging down. If we could have found another hotel with availability for our stay we would not have hesitated in moving. Very disappointed. The outer exterior of the hotel has paint and parts of the facade missing or peeling off. On the plus side... the staff were pleasant and friendly. Bar area was more modern and the 1 breakfast we had was fine. Bed was clean and comfy. Slept well. This will only let me upload 8 pictures but i have more. None of the poor state of the Spa unfortunately.
