"Beautiful room and en-suite in a lodge with four others, tucked away at the back of the garden. Very comfortable. Especially appreciated two armchairs, decent size fridge and small outside area with table and chairs. Evening meal in the pub was also excellent. Lovely beer garden and attentive hosts. We didn't have breakfast as making an early start but ordered a packed lunch which was very handy."

"We only stayed for one night but had a really lovely evening! The staff were very friendly, the pub/hotel have been recently refurbished and it's great. The rooms have everything you'd need, comfy bed, great shower, lovely lighting, loads of plugs! The bar and food was great. Overall really lovely and we'll stay again as we're often down to visit family."

"Great stay but HOT! We've stayed at Old Thorns a few times but sadly I won't be staying again during summer. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and the fan provided (had to request it) was quite rubbish. Our room, apart from being hotter than the sun, was great though. Massive bed and lots of room around it. Had a few issues, such as the phone not working to enable us to request a fan, lack of fridge and very dusty/dirty up-lighters. We really enjoyed the pool area and being able to read a book on the loungers."

All in all a very talented, dedicated & friendly person to have in the circumstances, very unusual nowadays!"

"Brilliant stay, highly recommend What a lovely place. It’s a proper family home that goes back centuries and you can really feel that when you’re there. The staff were so friendly and nothing felt too much trouble. The food was great and the beds were incredibly comfortable, we had the best night’s sleep. Beautiful setting too. We’ll definitely be back."
