We loved our stay at The Swan. The ground floor room was great and very quiet. Free parking was an added bonus. The only confusing issue was that we were looking forward to drinks on the terrace by the river only to discover there wasn’t a river in sight. Such a random picture on the Expedia page. Would definitely stay again.

Sweet hotel with pub in the middle of Alton. Very convenient location and very cozy, comfortable room. Staff was great. We had dinner and food was top notch. We were there during the intense heat wave and there was no air conditioning, but I don’t think there is any in the village. Staff was accommodating with fans.

Very clean and comfortable room, free parking right outside, great location. Wouldn’t recommend the breakfast - plenty of better options a short walk away on the high street.

This is a very nice little inn. My wife and I love to stay here every time we come to visit family in Alton. It is just what we are looking for: a nice, clean place to spend the night. Highly rated.

The staff at the hotel were excellent and went out of their way to assist us in allowing both an early check in and a late check out as we had an early arrival flight and a late departure flight. The room was quite spacious for a single room, the only downside was that the rooms were very warm. The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of town.

The hotel was comfortable and clean a few tweaks would help like no toilet brush in the bathroom and there was only one hand towel. The hotel looked a bit tired in place but in all fairness it was having a refurbishment. All in all our stay was very comfortable although i think the rooms would benefit from air con in these increasingly hot conditions. The location was good in the centre of the high st.

We had a fantasic stay in the Swan. All of the staff were great. The accommodation was first rate. The bed was really comfortable. We had two meals and a breakfast there, they were really nice. It is ideally situated for the village and surrounding countryside. We will be using it again. Thank you for making our visit special.

Our double room was a bit small. Okay for a couple of nights, not so good if we’d wanted to stay longer. Also, like a lot of budget hotels, the windows on the ground floor were locked shut. Not great during the heatwave.
