We were not able to travel on this date due to family emergency and the hotel refuses to change our stay to the new date or even gave us a credit. We did not want our money just change the date to another date as we were still committed to go to our customer in Shanghai.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Close to F1 circuit.
It was A 30 minute walk to the F1 circuit. They did offer a shuttle bus Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant service has improved in the last 2 years. However, there has been little or no maintenance to the hotel and it is looking very tired.
air-conditioner and refrigerator both were out of work, their staff arranged the other rooms for me, but the result was same as last, 冷氣(空調), 雪櫃(冰箱), 全部壞, 安排轉換房間, 但結果一樣.
rubbish hotel (垃圾酒店)
I was impressed with the rooms very large and well equipped location a bit out the way but was ok for us as it was near the f1 circuit which is what we went for. The food was ok but portions were small one problem is communication the staff don't speak English be prepared to use sign language

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Not bad. Breakfast was great. Shower leaked lots of water.

Disliked: Staff & service
Close to Motor race circuit
Lobby, reception area and lounge and very nice. Our room had a fantastic view. However, the bathroom showed it's age. Part of the ceiling was damaged from flooding. The shower sprayed everywhere except where you wanted it to. There seams to be a general lack of maintenance in China. Once something is built, that's it. The waiter service was very poor. I blame management for the total lack of training. I was very convenient to get the the Shanghai F1 race. We got a taxi there and walked back. Taxis were prepaid, even the one we took to Shanghai in the evening.

Ok hotel but lousy language knowlegde
Do *NOT* book this hotel if you don't understand chinese. I stayed here during F1 race weekend at Shanghai International Circuit since it was only 3 km from the track. We thought that at least the reception personel was fluent in english, but no. It was nearly impossible to make yourself understood in English. Also the Polo resturant was a huge dissapointment, it took forever to be serviced, when finally serviced the food took forever to get and we never got what we ordered, even for these they tooked 15% service charge! The chinese resturant on second floor was ok, but the personel couldn't a word english and that caused problems when you are not used to real chinese eating experience. Except for the huge language problems the hotel was ok in room standard for that price, the rooms was worn, but acceptable for us. Next trip to the F1 races in Shanghai I'll stay on a hotel downtown. The main reason we stayed here was that it was close to the circuit, but when we where there we discovered that the metro no. 11 was rerouted to the track from downtown Shanghai, so it wouldn't be any problem taking you to/from downtown and thus live a place that is easier for english speaking people.
Very bad experience.
shower dont drain....
bad service, nobody speaks english, take a taxi it is a very bad experience from the hotel.
40 to 50 dolars for a bad buffet....
well I went to the formula one race only good thing it is near to the race track.
It's not just one thing... It's the compounded effect of many issues that add up to a disappointing experience. Tack on top of that a language boundary and this is somewhere you should avoid if possible. Toilets that don't flush, showers that don't drain, safes that want open, deadbolts that don't work, ... I mean its just not a place I would ever return to. The brand of TV in the room was "Skyworth" if that tells you something.
Location:
If you need to be in northwest Shanghai, as I did for a weekend recently when attending the Formula 1 GP at the Shanghai International Circuit, this place is excellent. The hotel is about a 20-30 minute walk from the track. With all the traffic congestion that the event causes, a walk along beautiful scenery (to me, anyway) is far better than a taxi sitting still in a jam. If you're not in the area for the track, from what I understand, it's not far from industry, such as the Volkswagen plant, etc.
Transportation:
The hotel concierge service can help arrange a taxi/limo for you or otherwise assist with your travel plans and a number of the staff speak passable English. You can also tell them where you want to go in English and they will tell a driver in Chinese. I would highly suggest their in-house drivers, as the hotel charges a fixed price and the drivers were (during my stay) far more knowledgeable and reliable than the local taxi drivers.
Accommodations: I was in the suite and the infamous heroine of the "Princess and the Pea" could likely find fault with the accommodations, but for the rest of us, you'll live and sleep like a king. Truly fab.
Complaints: No complaints about the hotel itself whatsoever. Beautiful, western-style accommodations. The only downside is the location if you're going anywhere outside northwest Shanghai. If you take the metro, expect about an hour to the Bund area with the main tourist attractions (Pearl TV Tower, People's Square, etc) and plan 2 hours for travel to Pudong Airport. The hotel is much closer to Hongqiao Airport, so that wouldn't be quite as bad.
Who's Likely Not to Like It: Those who plan on spending much or all of their time in or near the city center; those who are hoping to take the metro back to the hotel after a night out (at the time I went in 2012, the metro closed around 10-11pm); those who prefer strictly tourist areas (the hotel is quite the tourist style, but not exactly in a tourist district as of April 2012).
Surrounding Area: The local neighborhood is great for someone who is very outgoing and learning a bit of Chinese, as the locals are very friendly. Right behind the hotel, there are local (non-tourist) restaurants and (some) shopping areas that are not tourist areas at all, but have great food cooked in or outdoors at excellent prices. I was able to get a very good haircut, some great food and made some new Chinese friends all within .5 km of the hotel.
Conclusion: All in all, I loved this place, if you can't tell, but I understand not all will be in the same situation as I was. I chose the hotel for its location (close to the track) and was lucky to find local Chinese food nearby. If I had stayed for the entire week, I would have switched hotels to somewhere closer to downtown following the race.
