"Very impressed "

"We liked our room. Good size and enjoyed the side sea view from the balcony. (Might have paid for an upgrade but can’t remember) ok, the decor was quite dated but it added to the character of the place. The gardens were lovely and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast wasn’t the highlight of the day but you won’t starve and the price was very reasonable compared to hotels in Funchal. Would stay again."

"such a great location, close to everything without being too busy. the hill outside is very steep though! parking was a bit of a struggle on the first night but easy to find street parking - just watch out for the ‘M’ parking spaces that are for locals only. the room was a good size, nice facilities. mini fridge, electric hob & cooking utensils should you need them. room was cleaned every 2-3 days which was all we needed the pool was a great added touch. communication with the host was quick and helpful, answered all questions i had. smooth & easy check in, and check out isn’t ‘til 12 midday which was great. overall, a lovely stay. highly recommend :)"

"The hotel staff were very nice, the room was clean, large and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was good with a nice selection of hot and cold options. Very well located and near to historic Funchal, everything within easy walking distance. Only negative was the sound of traffic was noticeable in the evenings / at night even with the windows/balcony door fully closed. "

"Very good location near historic old town. A few minutes walk from the Aerobus (airport to town public transport) stop. Breakfast buffet was good. Staff were all very welcoming and gave advice on local trips etc.... Glad we chose to stay here."

"João, Carla and the great kitchen and cleaning staff went the extra mile to make our one week stay comfortable. The room we got was an upgrade because we had found the first room’s bathroom uncomfortably cramped. The room we got was an extra story to climb stairs but João insisted that he carry our bags. He was also super helpful with ideas and bus connections. The large windows opened wide in the evenings to let fresh cool air in. If we had to be inside during the day, the AC could cool the room down in minutes. The bed and bathroom shower were roomy and comfortable. Daily room service left the place neat and tidy when came back from our daily adventures. "
