Well located along main avenue, about a kilometer from the Cathedral and main downtown area. Good breakfast, staff helpful. 2 negatives-entrance down a long flight of steps from the street and the supposedly heated indoor pool was not heated.

I traveled with a male friend and, being that I am a woman and we are but friends, so at reception we requested separate (already paid for separate rooms) but adjoining rooms. We arrived early in the morning, stored our luggage, and then returned around 5 pm, whereupon we were assigned Rooms 360 and 362 which we were told were next to each other. Instead, there was both a large meeting room and a large library space between them. I was in 362, which unlike my friend's room had no sofa, no desk with a chair for writing, no nook for coffee pot, and was considerably farther from elevators. We paid the same amount for our stay. Also, unlike my friend's room, I was not supplied with face cloths and had to request them. We were exhausted after a long trip from the US and sightseeing and I didn't have the energy to protest the inferior room and possibly move. People should be aware also that, while the distance to the historic downtown is a 15 minute walk, the return is up a very long and steep hill. We noticed, after several trips up and down the hill, that there is a bus that goes up the hill. It would have been helpful if at reception, someone would have alerted us to the availability of the bus and indicated the bus number and cost. On the positive side, there are a number of small, reasonably priced restaurants across from the hotel. The hotel buffet breakfast, which was included in our reservation, was excellent and offered a vast number of choices of food. space

Room was very generous size and 'double' bed was 6ft and very comfy! Double sink and spotless bathroom. We were lucky to have a balcony with view over the sea. Breakfast buffet offered fantastic choice and one night we opted for Madeiran evening buffet and were visited by a traditional Madeiran singing and dancing group! Within walking distance of the town and hotel also provided us with information on tours with direct or nearby pick up.

Rommet var slik det bør være. Bra service, god frokost, og mye og velge i. Alltid smilende betjening og hjelpsomme. I resepsjonen bør det vurderes å sette opp TV-skjermer som viser værprognosene. Og hvordan situasjonen et på flyplassen. Når vi var der kom det en storm som stengte flyplassen i 2 dager. Og fly er vanligste transportmiddel til og fra Funchal.

Great location, very retro in the communal areas. large selection at breakfast, few negative point though. If you have a garden facing room, take ear plugs. The nightclub at the casino goes on till 3/4 am and the noise from the club is LOUD!. Also if you have a suit at the sea end of the hotel, be prepared for noise from the cruise terminal pumping station. Room service was rather late in the day/ none existent My room was only cleaned after 4pm and another room in our group wasnt cleaned at all. Over all the the hotel is very nice place to stay

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen, Zimmer sind tip top und sehr sauber, Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend. Frühstück ist üppig und sehr gut, es hat auch immer frische Früchte zum mitnehmen. HOTEL an sehr guter Lage in Funchal, Parkplätze zu 15.-- Euro pro Tag oder auf dem Casino Parkplatz für 12.-- Euro pro Tag. Wir können das Hotel wärmstens empfehlen 😀

I commend you on the inviting atmosphere and thoughtful layout of the lobby and floors, with comfortable seating enhancing the overall experience. However, I faced some inconveniences during my stay. The lack of an iron and ironing board was inconvenient, as I was informed that this was due to fire hazard policies. While I understand safety regulations, I believe these amenities would improve guest satisfaction. Additionally, clean towels were not provided during housekeeping, and one of the washcloths I used was not replaced. My daughter’s washcloth was left hanging by the bathtub. Having replacements available would ensure guests have what they need. The complimentary breakfast was limited, with the potatoes never served warm or hot. It's important to ensure that meals are enjoyable for guests. Lastly, I attempted multiple times to book spa services but found the spa unattended, with no indication of when someone would be available. Thank you for considering my feedback.

Rooms and site were clean. Parking at casino is $12€ per day and no in and out privileges. Cleaning staff came in and cleaned our room on day 3 even though we had do not disturb sign up. Blow dryer in our room broke. We called 4 times, went to the front desk and it was never fixed. Eventually on day 3 they brought us a plug in one. Beautiful spot… staff service leaves something to be desired.

Very nice personal and service. Free drinks, towels and other stuff. Big Hotel with a lot of stuff like small football and basketball court, tidy beautiful rooms with very beautiful views. A lot of good restaurants around and the Promenade is like 10min Walk. Just one small complain, the ping pong balls and the football table were not in a good condition but that is almost irrelevant. All in all 5 stars very good stay.
