"This is our second time staying there as our daughter attends UCSB. Very clean and the facility is exactly as displayed by the photos, but during the second stay we arrived at 10 PM (after a 12 hour flight and driving from LAx) and there was no one at the front desk - with a sign posted that the front staff was helping another customer. We were extremely frustrated as we weren't sure how long the wait would be. I don't think the wait was longer than 15-20 minutes, but I would suggest when the front staff leaves, they provide a pager or someone we can call for reassurance (during the waiting process, we were already looking for other hotels as we desperately needed rest)."

"I really enjoyed staying here because the property is across from the beach, and we had access to the pool at the hotel next door. The pool was a little cold for me but there was a hot tub. Breakfast was included, and so was a happy hour cheese and wine spread. The hotel is definitely unique and old Santa Barbara, but we liked it. We had a room with 3 beds, but the downside was that the AC did not work. The room had fans, but it was stuffy in there at night and I did not feel comfortable opening the ground-floor windows while sleeping. I would stay here again."

"This is the absolute nicest motel 6 I’ve ever been to. It is the first Motel 6 ever built and, therefore, was on my travel bucket list. It’s all decorated in midcentury modern and the rooms have retro style fridge and microwaves. Also they provide shampoo and body wash in the shower. The best part is it is 100% easily walkable to the beach and you could also walk to the Santa Barbara Zoo quite easily."

"The Hilton Beachfront Resort was a very large and older resort that lacked luster. The hotel facilities were outdated and not well maintained. The best examples were the gates to enter the pool area were key fob operated but did not work. The hotel hallways had wall patches throughout many buildings. In the Camilia building where we stayed all three ice machines did not work. The gym was very outdated and not maintained very well. The pool area was not monitored by staff where it seemed many children ran the decks and jumped in the pool and hot tub without and intervention by parents or staff. I found the staff at check in, restaurant, and bar to be very friendly and helpful. I had an issue with the safe opening in our room, and a staff member quickly reported the issue and it was resolved during a period that was convenient for us."
