"Beautiful property. Staff was so friendly and the restaurant & bar was wonderful and great to have on site. Snacks provided, happy hour and continental breakfast pastries and delicious coffee from SB Coffee company. Rooms were spacious, clean, and bed was comfy. Gardens and cottages have lots of seating to sit & relax. Away from the chaos of downtown & wharf but still walkable. Really loved our stay! We'll be back soon!"

"No direccions on how to enter the propery. There is a guard shack but nobody is there. At the check in they did not have the room I requested instead they gave me a voucher for misserable 20.00 . Room was good but the balcony had spider webs and holes in teh wall and cilling. Not a 5 star hotel. May be 2 . No complementry nothing. I will stay away . Not a 700.00 room"

"Here is my review, now I gave it 5 stars on everything. Was it a big $$$ resort? No , not at all. Our room was a little dated but it was nice for us. I do know they have better rooms but we only really slept there. We wanted to see Santa Barbra so our time there was limited. Morning continental breakfast was nice but nothing too special. We wanted to visit local restaurants anyway. The staff are very hard working!!! Thank you !!! The courtyard and pool area are beautiful. The front desk gentleman in the afternoon was very friendly and helpful. The property is walking distance to most things. It’s not on the beach but that’s ok. It was worth staying here. I will definitely return if visiting Santa Barbra. It maybe worth booking directly through them. Do your homework and price comparisons. Thank you"

"My husband and I stayed here for one night during a friend’s wedding weekend and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is pet-friendly, with beautiful rooms and an excellent location. I’m a very picky traveler when it comes to cleanliness, and I was genuinely impressed by how well-maintained both the property and the rooms were. I’m also very sensitive to smells, and everything felt fresh and clean - especially impressive for a pet-friendly hotel. The location is fantastic. We were able to walk to restaurants, shops, and other nearby attractions, and it’s just a short walk from the water. We highly recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay here again. We can’t wait for our next visit!"

"The worst hotel we have ever stayed in. An exorbitant amount of money for a terrible experience. I had knee surgery recently and a HOT TUB was my priority--doctors orders. We arrived Thursday and they told us the hot tub was not working but would be fixed on Friday. It was not. It was NEVER fixed for our entire stay. The other reason we needed a vacay was because we've had construction next door for 7 months. On our first morning there, at 9 am, loud electric hedge clippers were being used right outside our window for an 8 foot hedge. No sleep and more construction sounding noise. We had to ask for shampoo as the maid left an empty bottle in the shower. They didn't leave an extra roll of toilet paper in the room and unfortunately, while on the toilet, the paper ran out. Very awkward situation. We feel we should get money back for this trip. Something. My knee is not in good shape as I could not use the hot tub, and all the other problems. I give this hotel a 2**"

West Beach Inn, a Coast Hotel

"At the last minute, I took a train from Orange County, CA to Santa Barbara to get away and reset. I found and booked/paid for this inn. I planned on a one night turn around trip; checking in late, getting sleep, doing morning activities, checking out, doing a few more things, then returning home. I also contemplated staying a 2nd night depending on the service I received at the inn upon my arrival. I checked in at 10 p.m. I asked for a 2 p.m. check-out instead of 12 p.m. Considering I got their so late, I expected they would allow this one tiny request but, they declined it. Based on that service, I did not book a 2nd night with them. It is what would be expected of a basic establishment with basic amenities. The place is clean. There was a hint of a funny smell. The queen bed was low quality; I could feel the springs. I do not know what the other hotels/inns are like but this one was a bit cheaper in price so maybe those offer more, not sure. There are a few rooms with direct view of the small harbor, not the ocean. For a direct view of the ocean, there are much better choices on that strip. There is a jacuzzi and pool; the pool is small and by the property driveway but, it is not a busy, driveway. Their continental breakfast was typical one. The morning staff was friendly and ensured there was plenty of food, and they were pleasant during my check-out."

"We stayed here one night in May. Here are the highlights: -Hotel staff was nowhere to be found once we were escorted to the building we were staying in (multiple buildings). -The hotel bar closed at 8pm. -We attempted to make use of the amenities - rooftop pool - but due to what I presume was cloudy weather the chairs outside had no cushions and there were no hotel staff to service. -I was awakened by a 3am washing of our room's windows. I contacted staff which got back to me 6 hours later to apologize and offer some credit for the inconvenience. This was unacceptable and ridiculous. What an oversight. -The next day we met up with friends at the pool which was crowded. It took 1 hour for our diet cokes to arrive. And my friend was treated rudely by the staff member running the pool. I'm not sure if he ended up paying for fruit that we never received. -After checkout I was surprised to be charged for undisclosed $60+ "leisure fees" and $14 delivery for the room service we ordered on arrival (ultimately this was comped due to the window incident). But I really wonder how they possibly justify this added expense given the lack of attentive staff and narrow hours of operation. Overall this is simply not a luxury destination hotel. It's a beautiful location with well designed facilities. But they are currently charging inflated rates for what seemed like a short-staffed operation."
