The room was clean and well-maintained when we arrived. The bathroom and shower area were also very clean throughout our stay. Overall, we were happy with the cleanliness of the hotel and had a pleasant experience. If we had any issues , the staff were friendly to help out. I would stay again in the future.

For a solo traveller on a budget, this is a good place to stay if you want the basics to hold off for a day or two. Room, bathroom and shower room are very clean. The only thing is that I noticed some small flies would pop up randomly in my room. I think they spawn from the sink.

If you want to be right in the heart of San Francisco, this hotel’s central location cannot be beaten. It is located just steps away from Union Square, making it incredibly convenient for shopping, dining, and jumping on public transit. The accessibility factor alone makes it a fantastic base for exploring the city. The rooms are definitely on the small and cozy side, so don't expect a lot of extra space to spread out. However, they are clean and have everything you need for a comfortable stay if you plan on spending most of your day out and about. Ultimately, you get what you pay for here. It is a straightforward, budget-friendly option in an expensive area. If you go in with the right expectations, it is an overall good experience and a solid value for the location.

It is a fun place right by the Chinatown gate. It was clean, and everything looked nice and well cared for. This is a hostel, where the toilets and the showers are not connected to the rooms. It is three stories, with two unique historical looking stairways leading up to the second and third floors. The rooms are cute, but small. The restaurant across the street is good, I ate there three times!

The rooms are small, but very clean. Bathrooms are shared on each floor. They are very clean as are the shared shower rooms. As a caution there are three floors, but no elevator. Price was good.

It's an okay hotel. If you're a solo traveler it's cost effective for the money. Only complaint was the shower facilities hot water only seems to come out in the showers with a tub. Other two showers on my floor had issues the light would turn off even with the timer on and it just randomly would turn back on. Other shower the handle wouldn't work. There are multiple showers on each floor so you just need to find one that works. Room was comfy and I've stayed in the past so I bring ear plugs. Staff is always friendly and super helpful. Laundry on site is a positive for me.

Loved how close it was to Chinatown, literally right next door. Although it is a dorm room kind of feel, with shared bathrooms located in the hallways, bathrooms and showers were never a problem because of how many there were and they were always clean. Staff is very friendly and always available 24/7 if you are out late.

Great location and the front desk staff is helpful. This may not be the place for you if you are uncomfortable going up and down a lot of stairs. There is not a service elevator so everyone shares a funky elevator. I’ve stayed at places with shared funky elevators before, and it can work. It seems to be the workplace culture here for housekeeping to completely monopolize that elevator during the day. They will completely block guest use of the elevators, which is not very nice

Great location! The hotel is what it is--minimalist and very old. This is a value stay, and you should think of it more as a hostel with a private bedroom and shared bathroom. The rooms were clean for what they are, but the hotel is old and smelled a bit musty. Staff was excellent! At night there is only a single pane of glass between your bed and all the street noise. I had an outward street-facing room and it was not quiet by any means.
