We booked at the last minute because another property fell through. While very simple, Brit Hotel was a wonderful surprise. Quiet, friendly and helpful staff, and one of the best breakfasts we had while in France. We loved the emphasis on local products. A great stay.

Breakfast was good. Room hadn’t been prepared when we arrived ie. the bed had not been changed since the last customer and there were still wet towels on the floor. The receptionist gave us 5 minutes to get our luggage saying it would be sorted in 5 minutes, which it was, but this meant that the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned nor the room vacuumed.

This is potentially a perfect place to stop over. Close to the motorway and close to the beautiful town of St.Flour. But we were sold a breakfast on arrival and no one turned up to prepare it until 8:10 by which time many guests were leaving annoyed that they had not had breakfast and were now late to start their journey. I saw a very young person arrive at 8:10. She was unable to give me a card refund and said she would post me a cheque. I don't expect to see the cheque. The coffee machine in the lobby was also broken. If these things had operated normally I would have been impressed with this little place who are dog friendly and good value for price.

I booked this hotel knowing that the check in was until 8pm however I used the Expedia “Contact” button to request a late check in. The options were given in 2 hour slots - I selected 8- 10pm. I also messaged asking the property if the rooms had AC or fans. Neither request was acknowledged. As I had paid and been charged and the booking confirmed by Expedia, my family and I tuned up at the hotel after a 12hour drive from Spain to find it all locked up and no entry possible. Absolutely furious with both The Brit Hotel and Expedia and will never use either of them again.

J’ai réservé une chambre à un lit 2 personnes, j’ai eu un chambre 1 lot 140 + 2 lits 1 personne , sauf qu’un lit avait etait utilisé et pas changé en vrac , le lalabo de la salle de bain et la douche présentaient des cheveux bruns. La chambre n’avait pas etait faite, très déçu et le soir pas de réception donc j’ai fait avec dommage cela fait plusieurs fois que je viens, et je n’ai jamais eu de problème
