「The staff were lovely and the food was great. We were upgraded to a superior room, which was wonderful and clean but the room was far too hot because it was next to the main working fireplace of the hotel. We had to have the window open the whole time to cool down, (but didn’t make too much difference in temperature) and then smoke from the chimney came into the room.」

「The hotel is looking a little tired now and could do with redecorating. We arrived a little early for check in, but reception was unmanned. We waited about 15 minutes and pressed the buzzer 3 times but no one materialised.
The room was cleaned well apart from a glass being smashed in the bathroom, when we got back there were still several shards of glass on the floor which were dangerous in a bathroom.
The hotel’s location is excellent and close to restaurants and shops.」

「The staff were all extremely helpful, friendly, polite and accommodating. The breakfast was good quality food - real butter, avocado, good bread. And there was good choice. I don’t know why but I didn’t expect that. Excellent attentive service.」
