We had a lovely stay . Very peaceful , we enjoyed the view from the porch siping a cocktail as well as our morning coffee and delish breakfast . The breakfast options were numerous and the croissants , amazing . Most of all we enjoyed the friendly woman who greeted us and checked us in . She gave us a few suggestions about the area and made sure we had everything we needed at breakfast . Highly recommend, staying here .
The room was comfortable and clean. Nice shower in a small bathroom, considering this is an old property.
Wonderful view to the ocean where the sun rises!
Breakfast was good and the staff is very friendly. I recommend this place.
The view sitting on the veranda is outstanding. Staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast and bar snacks were delicious and well prepared. I only wish that they served dinner every night. I also wish the lounge chairs around the pool were more comfortable. Cushions would be nice. Nevertheless, I loved our stay and would love to stay again soon.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay for our wedding anniversary and we cannot wait to be back!! All the staff was so very friendly, especially Mariah. She was very accommodating and helpful.
Wonderful rooms, pool and breakfast!
We will definitely be back!
Thank you so much for a lovely stay!!
The staff was wonderful, especially the manager. She was so helpful getting us discount tickets for a whale watching trip even though it was a holiday weekend! The bar is lovely and welcoming. We enjoyed grabbing a cocktail and a snack there after we checked in. It even has a grand piano. I only wish they had a pianist come in to play in the evening or at breakfast but unfortunately it remained silent and was used as a beautiful place to grab a newspaper - as a musician this made me sad. The breakfast was very nice in the morning. I wish they had a couple of hot breakfast options mostly for my husband’s sake, perhaps bacon or sausage, but I really enjoyed the croissants/muffins, hard boiled eggs, fruit and yogurt options. Coffee and tea table service was a really nice touch and the view of the ocean while dining on the porch or in the breakfast room was a great way to start our day. The King ocean view bedroom was small but comfortable. The only minor issue was the TV didn’t have any apps to watch your favorite shows so it was fairly limited. When we did want to watch something in the later evening we went downstairs to the game room to watch on the big screen down there. They had board games and chess down there too (along with a library) but we never saw anyone else using it. Too bad - it’s a nice space. The house is lovely and peaceful. No businesses within walking distance but it was just a short drive to Rockport and Gloucester. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!
Our stay was amazing. The views were incredibel. The food was fantastic. We loved having windows facing the ocean and leaving them open at night. This was my 50th birthday trip and we are definitely planning to return!
We stayed here for a wedding during the weekend. The property was very picturesque. It was quite while we were there and zero issues. Breakfast was good, bed was clean and comfortable. Kids loved it and we would definitely stay here again.
Great hotel! Bed extremely comfortable! Nice linens and towels! Hotel is historic so it’s not a contemporary place but has some very nice updates. The pool is salt water and overlooks the ocean. Felt very much like Being at a resort right here in New England. Food that we had was excellent and the stafff are extremely inviting and warm. We will be back
Lovely to sit on deck overlooking green, pool and ocean. So relaxing, stately yet unpretentious. Wonderful breakfast served daily. Bed, pillows, comforter comfortable. Shower perfect. Would love to go back. Scenery is so priceless.
The waterfront view from the hotel porch is amazing. The hotel is very cozy and nice. Unfortunatelly, there's no elevator to access the second or third floors where my room was, so carrying the luggage is a hassle. The room is correct and confortable.
The Emerson was a great place to get away from it all. With that, be aware that there is very little, if any, taxi, Uber, or Lyft access. Other than that, make sure you watch the moonrise as it is spectacular. The provided breakfast was very good and fresh.
We enjoyed everything about this property except the lack of a space for suitcases, any hook or hanger to utilize for a coat or jacket. I realize it is a historic property, but some furniture in the limited square footage could be traded for space for a luggage stand. We don't need the dresser, palm, fancy lamp etc. This space would be better for the practicalities of people traveling. Had to place 1 suitcase under table and 1 on the only place to sit.
It overlooked the water and grounds well groomed and charm of the retro/traditional historical Inn was very enjoyable. Staff were very helpful and fun. We had a take out dinner and rather than go to our room to eat they turned on the lights in bar/fix easy dining area and we enjoyed our dinner and viewing the ocean. Also, appreciated outdoor games such as corn hole, horse shoes and many other family games offered in library. Nice touches throughout stay.
