"Unfortunately, when we first checked in, we found bedbugs in the bed while doing our usual bed check. We immediately notified the front desk and showed them photos. The staff was very concerned, took the situation seriously, and quickly moved us to a different room far away from the original one. Our new room was very clean, and we had no further issues during our stay. The hotel was extremely accommodating and waived our parking fees and provided us with breakfast, which we really appreciated. Despite the rough start, everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful. We also had great service at the hotel bar and restaurant. The hot tub was unfortunately out of service and being repaired during our stay, so we weren’t able to use it. However, the pool was amazing and heated, which we really enjoyed! Finding bedbugs was obviously concerning, but I really appreciated how seriously and professionally the staff handled the situation. Their customer service made a big difference in our overall experience."

"Room was clean and well appointed. Only disappointment was at check in, I was given a lesser quality room than booked/paid for. Which I only realized when I got to the room. When I went back to the desk to inquire about the mistake, I was told several guests extended their stay which made the booked suite unavailable. Clearly I was not going to be told ahead of time and they figured I might not notice. They managed to find one suite that was a handicap accessible unit and put me there when I insisted I should get what I booked and paid for. Never should a property put a guest who has not planned their stay properly before another who has booked ahead of time."

"We stayed one night and I wish we could have stayed for a week! Beautiful property. Amazing staff. Front desk was so kind and on point. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in. Room was huge and well laid out. LOVED the patio. View onto beautiful trees and trails. It was very quiet while we were there. I will absolutely be back."

"Absolutely loved our stay. Great and friendly staff. Valet was super welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The treadmills weren’t working. We didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel. The location was in close proximity to the beach and downtown which was perfect. Overall it was amazing and would definitely book again."

"Fern River Resort was such a special getaway. We were surrounded by breathtaking redwood trees, a very clean river on the property and wonderful staff. Check in was a breeze and instructions were super clear on how to get to our cabin. Our cabin #2 was extremely clean and very cozy, the bedding was plush and pink! I loved that we had the option to cook there. At the property, Lisa was able to also accommodate an extension on our last day there thankfully because we weren't ready to leave yet, she was profesional and very kind. We will definitely be coming back and will be recommending this special place in the woods to friends and family."
