「Joel at the front desk was very friendly and amazing. Although we stayed only for one night, the hospitality we received was great. The breakfast was served on the table with plenty of items. Joel offered plenty of advice for visiting the national park, the general safety tips, etc. The views were breathtaking, wish we stayed longer. 」

「Very cute and quiet location. The walk to their entry to Rio Celeste was quick and the hike in super fun, especially the Tarzan swing and the swim in the beautiful blue river. You definitely need a car to get around the area, not much in the way of public transportation. Meals were great and staff was very friendly. Room was perfectly fine. 」

「I stayed here for an overnight stop between La Fortuna and Monteverde, the hotel was better than I was expecting. Everything was great, a/c provided, was clean and comfortable and no issues at all. 「I can't say enough for what a great time we had at Kakao Lodge. I was skeptical at first since I usually like staying in my chain hotels that provide all the normal American comforts. But after staying here, my mind has totally changed. You can't describe how awesome it is to be able to see a half dozen different species of exotic frogs at night, or a sloth while eating breakfast, or tropic birds singing to you in the morning.
