"The Hotel Grand River is a property with a lot of potential, unfortunately it falls short. The front desk staff was amazing! Very helpful and personable. The building itself is nice, in a nice location, unfortunately for the duration of my stay, the hallway on the ground floor reeked of urine. My room was a great value for the price, all of the available rooms on the app were listed at the same price, I selected the nicest looking one available, which was a suite with sofa bed. That wasn’t the room I was put in, which was a Jacuzzi suite, which was even better as I was traveling alone for work. My room was very clean, but the only coffee that was provided was decaffeinated (not an issue for most folks, but a personal pet peeve.) The view from the hotel is fantastic. The breakfast offerings were extremely mediocre. I enjoyed my stay, and felt like I received a great value for what I paid, but I also recognize that a few small adjustments (cleaning and deodorizing the carpets that have urine smell, investing to improve the amenities) would go a very long way to improve the guest experience."
