Great property. Our group lives in the city, so to stay in the middle of a horse farm and watch the sunset in complete silence is something we rarely get to experience. The service was accommodating. Full kitchen and appliances for cooking. Quick access to a friendly Icelandic town and other south coast attractions.

Die Unterkunft liegt sehr ruhig und abgeschieden, umgeben von Pferdeweiden. Für uns einfach perfekt. Die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich und das Check-in verlief angenehm und unkompliziert. Im Haus ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht und es ist liebevoll eingerichtet. Der riesige schwarze Sandstrand, der in kurzer Entfernung hinter der Unterkunft zu erreichen ist, hat uns sehr überrascht und war unglaublich toll.

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about, but this place is pretty sweet. Well kept, beautiful place. Our rooms (101 102) were stunning. They have that log cabin feel. The bathroom was a bit smelly, but I think that’s because of the sulfer in the water. I put a wet cloth over the drain, and it was fine. Fantastic “common area” and the amenities were great. Plus you get a solid continental breakfast. Very cozy. Self check- in was after 4pm as described, where you call the number they have here at the front desk, and they give you the code to your room. Hot tub was a nice touch.

This may be the best rental I've ever stayed at anywhere. The location is great as a base to travel to Vik, the black sand beach, all the waterfalls in between, etc. Vestmannaeyjar (Westman) Islands is very close too (very close). It is also perfect if you start the Golden Circle in Reykjavik and then continue from Selfoss to Bryggjur in the afternoon instead of returning to Reykjavik. The house is 15 min from a grocery store and gas station, but is very remote-- far back in the field off the road (2-3km down a farm trail from the road!). Westman islands and Eyjafjallajökull are visible from the windows,along with the owner's horses. If conditions are right, it is a perfect spot to catch the northern lights-- no light pollution at all. The entire house is heated from the floor and is adjustable in the laundry room (a washing maching and drying rack). The kitchen is very nice and has all the appliances, dishes, pots/pans/utensils, that you'll need to cook anything. All the beds and bedrooms are quite comfortable. They did a great job designing, building, and furnishing this house. This is a truly great place that you will enjoy hanging out in if a snow storm prevents you from your planned day trip. When a storm delayed our trip to Vik, we didn't care at all. The house is such a great place that we enjoyed the downtime in the comfort of this secluded house with great views of the plains, volcanoes/glaciers/islands/sky. Highly recommend this place!
