Pros:
Beautiful location / across from ocean
Charming historic building
Very Clean
No TV
Reasonable off season rates
New modern building across the street from millennials! TV/
Cons: no air-conditioning in main building but the breeze and ocean is nice!
The Colony stopped including breakfast with the room rate. Would preferred if they just added it in and I had to be worrying about paying. The buffet was very good.
Breakfast and lunch are served downstairs in the marine room, which is fine but the dinner menu is limited! . They stopped serving in the main dining room quite a few years ago. It’s too bad. It’s a beautiful venue..
Biggest travesty from me was the main house was very traditional and remnants of the past nicely decorated. But the last few years they have been redecorating rooms, which to me has become very un suitable since the room we stayed in the last time was done in primary colors like a kindergarten class the furniture was all mismatched, and even though they included a refrigerator, it made noise all night long and there was too much furniture in a small room and I actually had to put chairs in the closet to be able to move around..
Needless to say it was very disappointing. We have gone to The Colony for many years and just don’t understand what they were thinking..
We are considering of going somewhere else this coming year!
Sadly, for us, we miss all the familiar faces that made us feel warm and fuzzy! But your location life goes on!
