Location was perfect. Parking a little tight. Room was clean. Bed was a little soft for my liking and the shower was clean but low on water pressure. TV remote needed new batteries too. Appreciated the easy check in after hours and the open key app.

Gaining access to the room was easy- especially the flexible option of arriving after hours and using the app to open the door. I honestly had no human interaction to get into the space and upon exiting at the end of the trip. I didn’t see housekeeping but noticed the towels had been replaced and toilet paper roll. HOWEVER. Here is where I don’t like leaving a bad review, but it must be known that I had requested -on the notepad given to write on for the housekeeping team- that there was a serious ANT problem- yes ants, everywhere. They weren’t doing anything but just wandering, no food was left so I tried not to let it bother me. The floors were kinda sticky and had a film of something on them which didn’t make going barefoot a pleasant experience. There were crumbs and hair gathered in the corner of the room next to the bed, just not maintained the best for the next guest :( The ants got worse- no food again in sight but they decided to explore my bags and clothes which was odd. The tv remote didn’t work. Anyway-on a positive note-there was a large fridge and microwave. The bed was very comfortable, had a great night sleep. And it was ant free. Would probably try to find another spot close by on the next trip down.

Parking was great, right by our door, no fees, no valet, so easy. Room was clean and housekeeper even left a note, (Maria, I believe). We arrived late, and the innkeeper Daniel, left a code in a lockbox, and sent a secure electronic key via my mobile device. Very close to restaurants, thinking breakfast at Zorros cafe an easy block walk away was great, with a Shell Beach Inn coupon. We booked the same day as our travels were loosely planned, (my specialty)…. We met with family visiting the area, en route to another destination. Loved to see our family 😁 on our way! Thank you Shell Beach Inn for making a very last moment visit successful.

It is a very quaint place. Nice personal atmosphere with clean rooms and spectacular service. This is now my go to place to stay when I visit. If there was a way to give more than 5 stars I would. Very convenient to a liquor store and a few shops.

Stayed for 1 night. Great communication with the office. They asked when I would arrive and they left the key in a lockbox. The office closes at 5pm, but they are available via text. Room was nice and cozy. Popcorn, coffee, hot cocoa, bottled water, soap, shampoo, conditioner, makeup wipes, and shower caps available in the room. Bathroom is compact, but everything works great. We stayed in the winter so it got a little cold at night. Room has a heater/AC wall unit. Remote was missing, but staff brought us a replacement even though it was 9pm. Ate at Zorros a block away. 10% off coupon in the room, but I forgot to use it. Loud freeway noise, but they give you earplugs. The walls are thin and I could hear the people in the room next door talking. Overall, great stay!

Such a gem! Retro feel, very clean, cozy room. Pool was incredible. Off season is the time to go to Pismo. Area is quiet and so peaceful. Shell Beach Brewhouse & Zorro's are walking distance & great restaurants.

We would stay again. A few items for suggested improvement.One wash cloth given, per person, for 4 days is insufficient. Bath and hand towels provided daily. Dirty floor. My slipper socks very dirty. A floor lamp not plugged in and unable to plug in. Clean and cozy room and nice simple amenities. Close to shops and restaurants and a short walk to the beach. A very nice place to stay.
