"The west coast of NZ is extremely rural and poor. Typically that means marginal lodging. Marginal amenities. Cheap motels. We were so pleasantly surprised to find the Rumi lodge the exact opposite. Wonderful accommodations and food. What a wonderful breakfast. Literally five star. Cecelia, the host, was wonderful . Warm and inviting and so full of helpful info. Two thumbs way up for Rumi lodge. "Great camping option just outside MT Cook national park. We stayed in cabin with three bunk beds. Communal kitchen was fun to meet other campers especially students and families. Shower house was big and plenty of hot water. Much more affordable the hotels in the park. "
