With strict COVID-19 precautions to follow, travel looks a bit different today. These are some handy things to know before you pack your bags for Northeast Lake District:

• Investigate if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before committing to a flight. Also check if there are any special conditions you'll need to follow on arrival, such as proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
• You're required to wear a face mask at the airport, even at screening checkpoints. You should be prepared to adjust your mask for identification purposes when asked by a TSA employee.
• To reduce the possibility of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your pass directly to a TSA officer.
• TSA now permits passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will have to be removed from your bag for scanning.
• Place any personal items (e.g, keys, phone and wallet) in your carry-on instead of a bin to reduce handling during the screening process.
• If you're planning to take food through the security checkpoint, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to touch your carry-on bag or food container for inspection.
