This is a victorian home… every room is beautifully decorated and comfortable… the host is wonderful … and the breakfast amazing… I loved everything about it and highly recommend it … I would definitely stay there again!!

Our stay at The Lady Mary Inn is going to be the gold star by which we judge all our future B&B stays (sorry future hosts!). What a memorable vacation in such a historic setting... We were welcomed at the mansion by our host Ryan with a glass of homemade sangria. He gave us a tour, told us about all the history of the house, and invited us to explore at our leisure. He had a wealth of restaurant recommendations and insider knowledge of the best things to see and do in the area of which we took full advantage -- visiting restaurants, going for walks, and even blueberry picking! Our days at the Inn started with an incredible farm to table breakfast (including duck eggs, tomatoes, and peaches from his farm) set out in the formal dining room or the sunny, covered back porch. We spent days out exploring the area and yet we were happy to return to our spacious yet cozy room for a soak in the oversize tub and stretching out on the king bed. Throughout the house Ryan features local artists and artisans - even the soap in the rooms is locally produced which is a nice touch. Ryan was an amazingly welcoming host who made it feel like we were visiting an old friend. He was knowledgeable and easy to chat with and we loved hearing about all his plans for the historic estate. The community and the Hurd Manor are lucky to have a passionate and creative person caring for the estate's legacy. We're looking forward to visiting again next time we're in the area!

A must place to stay in Maine
The inn is a beautiful place to stay near Kennebunkport. Every furniture, objects throughout the house was so tastefully done . And breakfast cooked by the owner Ryan was one of the best my husband and I experienced. We will definitely stay there again!

Ryan & Keith are great hosts. This late 19th century house is roomy, well kept, meticulously decorated, and has an amazing history. When we checked in at night and approached the front door, I almost expected Boris Karloff to greet us. But it was Keith and he was very receptive and thorough. Trained professional chef Ryan's breakfasts are amazing, and both of them know the area very well for recommendations.

Outstanding experience!
This was our first B&B experience, and it was extraordinary! The home is spectacular and we were made to feel comfortable from the moment we stepped in the door.Our accommodations were quite comfortable and we really appreciated the upgrade! The Farm to table breakfast was so you delicious; and we learned so much about the history of the home and the surrounding area from our wonderful host. Highly recommended!

Lovey place!
Beautiful house! Lupine Room is located on the 3rd Floor. The bed was high up and not so comfy. We mentioned it to the awesome owner, so he may improve this. The location is right at an intersection, so you will hear some road noise, but not enough to be a bother. No TV, so be ready for that. You should bring your own hair conditioner and lotion. The bathroom is great in the Lupine Room. Strong water flow. The thirstiest towels ever!!! The breakfast was fabulous! Eggs prepared in a little crock, fruit, croissant, blueberry muffin, homemade jam, great butter! All told, a lovely stay! Keith and Ryan are great hosts! Keith is the innkeeper and Ryan is the owner. Lastly, make sure that you go to Marginal Way and enjoy the breathtaking walk along the coast! It was the highlight of our trip!

This is a beautiful old Victorian b&b. It recently changed owners and underwent a name change. The road noise is a bit of a nuisance but settled down during the late evening hours. There is no tv so need to stream from your computer. Bed very comfortable and bathroom very clean

Uniquely historic Inn with very interesting wood finish & ceiling work being restored throughout the main house. Guest room are completely updated, large, (ours had separate bath, dressing area, sitting room & bedroom) and well furnished. Free gourmet breakfast included. I’d recommend a stay here without hesitation.

SALLY and BEN are wonderful people. The home was beautiful! Breakfasts were delightful and beautifully served. Our room was absolutely beautiful, but two flights of stairs were challenging. They will carry your suitcases up and down if need be if need be. The location is not far from the ocean, 15 minutes, but with traffic at least a half an hour. If you want to have less hassles and stay on the beach, I suggest spending the extra money to do it, because it was very disappointing to have to drive bumper to bumper & wait in traffic and then not find parking when you get there to the beach. It definitely put a damper on our beach time which is why we drove almost 5 hours to get there. To see and be at the water/beach.

Thank you, GINAROBERTO, for your review. It's always great to get another 5-star (Excellent) rating. I strongly disagree that it is worth spending significantly more money to stay on the beach. Most southern Maine visitors want to experience all our great beach towns--Ogunquit, Kennebunkport, York, Wells and more. By staying on the beach, visitors must fight the horrendous traffic on US Route 1 to go from town to town. On the other hand, by staying at Angel of the Berwicks, visitors can travel to all the nearby beaches by taking scenic back roads. There is negligible traffic and the countryside is quintessential historic New England. Finally, visitors would be hard pressed to find a Bed & Breakfast experience as delightful as Angel of the Berwicks at any price--even two or three times more. Angel of the Berwicks is the finest example of Eastlake Victorian Architecture in the state of Maine, according to the state historian. The lavish elegance of the guest rooms is only exceeded by the breath-taking beauty of the dining room and other guest gathering rooms. In addition all guest services are provided by the owners. We take pride in our business and value each guest because our livelihood depends on you.

Heavenly Visit with the Angels!
Our "Angel" visit was heavenly. We came from California to attend a family event about10 miles away. We had four days of wonderful breakfasts, perfect hosts, interesting other guests, storybook accommodations, and more superlative features. We had truly a perfect visit!

Lost our virginity to a bed & breakfast with an Angel (Of The Berwicks). 6/23/19 This was our first bed and breakfast visit and it was better than we'd hoped for. The hosts were great, friendly yet giving you space and freedom. The room was delightful and as clean as possible, equipped with both A/C and a ceiling fan. The bathroom was modern and spotless. The history Ben shared with us about the restoration of the Inn was most interesting. We met great fellow breakfast guests, from San Francisco, Quebec, New Jersey, and Arlington, Massachusetts. We walked next door for baked scallops for dinner and a huge strawberry shortcake dessert, and had more than one dining option within walking distance. It was a fun, unique experience for less than a hotel if breakfast is calculated in, and much more memorable. We drove up to Sanford but the minor league baseball team was off for the night. The local Par 3 courses were in pristine condition and expensive, but worth it. The Marginal Way and Wells Beach entertained us Sunday, and Kennebunkport and Old Orchard Beach on Monday.

Sally & Ben are great hosts and make you feel right at home. She is a great cook and presents the breakfast so well. We will definitely stay at this B&B the next time in Maine. After viewing a few of the other rooms while there, our choice next time will be the purple room! 👍

Wonderful home and very nice innkeepers. The breakfast was yummy with real maple syrup from the trees on the property. The suite was spotless and very well appointed. We were visiting our son in South Berwick so chose this Inn for the location (also near Ogunquit). It exceeded our expectations ! We will certainly stay there the next time we are in Maine.

It is always our goal to "exceed expectations." Thank you for taking the time to write. We just got a new batch of the 2019 maple syrup that was made with sap from our trees. This was not a particularly good year for the sap because of the weather. But, the supply of syrup should last throughout the year.

BEAUTIFUL B&B with great Inn keepers. Place was gorgeous and enjoyed looking at all the antiques throughout the house. Had a meet and greet with other guests at a cocktail hour and small fire at the fire pit, nice quite location within walking distance to various stores / restaurants in area. Not a nightlife place but a place to kick back and enjoy !! Would go back in a heartbeat !!!
