Fake photos, rude staff

Do not trust the photos for standard rooms. That is not the real size and format for the rooms you are gonna get. Only one room is like that in each floor, and all the other rooms are much smaller, but the hotel still put the room to deceive customers into booking. It’s understandable that hotels in manhattan are small. It is not acceptable to use such scheme to misguide people into buying. I talked with the staff and got a tiny amount of compensation, and I was hinted it was the website who put the photos. So I accepted that compensation. But later after I checked out, the website would me it’s the hotel who is responsible for the photos. I talked to the hotel again, wanting to make sure they do something to stop it, but the staff again just don’t give a damn. Some staff I talked to are generally very cold and apathetic, superficial on the surface, and don’t have a heart for customers’ wellbeing. I encountered a very rude African American lady in the front desk who kept showing behaviors equal to rolling her eyes at me and signing after I finished talking like I was being unreasonable and stupid when I confronted about the photos, even though the hotel was the one who did this to customers. Worst hotel experience ever in the whole world. Totally not recommended.

recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza HY36 and overall had a good experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and very accommodating throughout our visit—they made check-in smooth and were helpful with all of our needs. The hotel itself was clean, modern, and comfortable. However, one downside was the immediate area surrounding the hotel. There was a noticeable presence of homelessness right next to the building, and unfortunately, the street often had a strong smell of urine but thats a lot of the streets. While this isn’t directly the hotel’s fault, it did impact the overall atmosphere when coming and going. That said, once inside the hotel, the experience was positive, and the service stood out. If you’re looking for great hospitality and don’t mind the challenges of Midtown’s street environment, this hotel is a solid choice.

I've been to NYC a few times now, and this is by far the most quiet and clean hotel, which is very important to me. The employees were super personable and helpful. The attached restaurant, Burgerology, had yummy food and drinks. The hotel was centrally located, so it was easy to walk to Broadway for our show and Madison Square Garden for our concert. All around great experience, and will visit again.

The service from the staff is exceptional. They are very responsive when I requested extra blankets and towels multiple times. The hotel smells very pleasant which masks off the bad odor from outside. The shower was leaking significantly hence why I keep requesting additional towels. The water seeped onto the carpet which cause a foul smell in the room throughout our stay. Also leaked onto the entrance and was slippery. I consistently had to wipe the floor with new towels after every shower. I wish the staff would’ve offer to move us to another room.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at Crowne Plaza HY36, the staff were very pleasant & helpful, in particular Yoli & the Porter (sorry didn’t get his name, very helpful and always smiling) our room was clean & comfortable, the hotel is a great base for exploring NYC & nearby transport links at Penn station are excellent. We didn’t like being charged a resort fee, not sure what’s provided for that?? Coffee in room, no drinking water, even with the very high & humid temperatures. The air conditioning is extremely noisy. Overall a very pleasant stay
