The staff was very nice but the rooms left a lot to be desired! The rooms are on both sides of the street, ours just happened to be facing the actual hotel front door. The problem is everytime someone comes back from partying they got dropped off right in front of our room, and if anybody has been to New Orleans knows that is all night so we didn’t get much sleep for 2 nights. It gets an average rating just because of the friendly staff. The horse drawn carriages going by the room at night was kind of cool.

Pros: classic New Orleans charm, clean pools and coffee in the morning in lobby. Most of the Hotel workers were really wonderful and accommodating. Jazz music in the lobby. Rooms were spacious. Cons: if I knew it was a smoking allowed outside on patios I would have booked somewhere else. Rooms on the street could be loud and bright the smell of smoke was in our room. We couldn’t figure out why. Bathroom needed some tlc but hot water was great. Close to everything but far enough to not be in the thick of it.

Room had 3 issues. First there was a broken light switch with some tape and my wife just went to turn on without really looking and it cut her finger, not bad but enough to be aggravating for a couple of days. 2nd we got there kind of late, around 10pm and the tv didn’t work. Determined no power to it from extension cord coming literally out of the wall. By the way cheap low grade cord. 3rd and least of as the trickle shower but it was hot. I gave an ok rating because we were only there 10hrs and the location was good. Also as many of the quarter hotels it has a bit of a musty smell.

The staff are the shining highlight of our stay here. Staff were very courteous and helpful. We had to switch rooms because our original room did not have blinds over the windows on the door, and they accommodated that quickly. We also enjoyed the two cats hanging out by the pool.

Fantastic location. Very close to all of the excitement on Bourbon Street, but far enough away to be quiet. Quaint, historic details, not a cookie cutter chain. This hotel captures the vibe of the city. Our room was small, but spotless, and the hotel rings a nice courtyard with a private pool and resident cats 🙂

Our room was spacious and beautiful but the windows were paper thin, and there are a lot of areas that need immediate attention. our room was right on the road and we could hear every noise and lots of slams and people yelling. The bed was a king size but the mattress was so thin and hard I had to sleep on the couch. The staff was amazing and very attentive and its a great location but unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel.

The biggest issue was there was no heat. Our room got down to 50. Despite reporting it multiple times, it was never resolved during our 3 night stay. They didn't have blankets (quite the problem if there's no heat and it's below freezing outside). Additionally, we had a roach in our bathroom, someone's leftover washcloth left in the bathroom (from previous person), and gum stuck to the headboard. No housekeeping services the whole time we were there. I really think Expedia should stop offering this hotel as part of its packages. It's an old hotel and very charming, but it was like camping without the proper gear.
