「Pleasantly surprised how nice the room was. Not what I expected at a roadside motel. Nice chairs out on the deck which had a lovely view of the lake. Breakfast dining area was very nice, food was just okay . Would stay again if we were in the area.」

「The dome was fantastic, it even had a television, which was great for the evening and when it rained. It is a work in progress so be patient it is all about the dome. It had huge views. Jeff was outstanding. The showers broke down but they let us use a hotel room. The hot tub should be deleted. I recommend them, once they are completed the price will certainly rise.」

「Nice hotel. Quiet. Restaurant was good. Only issue was with internet. Bad signal, constantly disconnected, only one bar! In room 105. Complained and they promised to reset, did not help. Good signal outside. Inside just one bar and no internet, they said all was recently renewed but apparently not good coverage everywhere, very annoying」

「While the host was very nice and helpful, the place certainly needs heavy renovation in every respect (worn-out furniture, lose fittings, broken parts here and there, etc.). The online pictures are deceiving as the reality looks quite different. The price which we paid is by no means justified for this motel.」

I chose the Royal Hotel based on its excellent Google reviews and the owners' thoughtful responses, and it did not disappoint—I enjoyed my stay so much that I've already booked another night for next week. Baby Rango the toy poodle and Billy Bean the Siamese cat are absolutely adorable, and Carmen is as warm, colourful, and memorable as the hotel itself.」
